About Mrs. Sunrise

Green and Pink

May 21st, 2010 @ 8:12 am by Mrs. Sunrise

I hear that a lot of people have a hard time picking out a color scheme for their wedding and often go back and forth on this difficult decision. That was not the case with us. It was rather easy, actually. Choosing our colors was probably the first thing that Mr. S and I agreed on after we got engaged.

We knew that we wanted GREEN for sure because it is such a clean, bright and lively color. And it just so happens to be Mr. S’s favorite color. I think it has to do with the fact that he is mostly Irish and he feels he always needs to represent. St. Patty’s Day is like his second birthday and you will never catch him without his green on. No pinches for Mr. S! (Exceptions made only on Talk Like a Pirate Day.)

Green and Pink : wedding color schemes minneapolis Piratep Arrrrrr! That’s the finest pirate booty I’ve ever laid eyes on.

PINK has always been a favorite color of mine.

It is sweet and girly… and oh so pretty! Mr. S always teases me (read: complains) about it because every gadget I own is either pink or covered in a pink case, including my iPhone, my digital camera, and my laptop. I am not greedy with my stuff, but over the years, I have learned that if I don’t want Mr. S using something of mine, then I should buy it in pink! Muahaha. But that also sucks for me because he refuses to carry any of my heavy pink luggage at the airport.

Here’s some eye candy for you… fresh green inspiration boards, followed by some lovely pink inspiration boards. :)

I am so excited about our wedding colors and I am very happy that Mr. S agreed to let me put any pink in the wedding at all. We just received our order of 150 pink linen napkins and he agrees that they are really nice. *Gasp* I think he may actually be finally coming around to appreciating this girly color! This morning I asked him if he would consider wearing a pink tie/vest for the wedding. Without any hesitation, he simply stated, “HELL NO.” And just like that, that idea was squashed. Haha. Maybe I can butter him up later and convince him to wear some pink socks. Yes, that’s a great idea—pink socks for all the guys!

What are your wedding colors and how did you decide on them?

Guys are SO funny about colors, luckily, FI fully supports my love-affair with pink. When I ask him if he cares, he says “I’m a MAN baby, I don’t care what color something is.” To the point where we registered for a pink video camera.

Tell your FI he should make an exception for luggage carrying, it’s in the bylaws!

Know what could be pretty cute…green and pink argyle socks! He’d have his green and you could get a little pink in there!

Love it! I have a pink credit card so that my fiance won’t use it. I call it fiance protection. :-)

Love pink and green! I’m thinking aqua and coral (but probably should get engaged first before picking out colors. Maybe? Nah ;)).

I love inspiration boards. Great colors. I wish our wedding had more pink!

Mr. Snow picked our colors (blue and red). He said it’d be very clear when our wedding took place… which is fine with us.

I love green and pink together! My brother’s wedding was all green and pink and it was just so light and refreshing (umm, not by his choice by the way, my SIL took the reigns in that regard). You will have a beautiful day!

AHHH!! This is my dream colour scheme!!! My FI is fine with the pink, but hates green with a passion! I think I’m nearly over it, seeing FI so generously said that the flowers will have green stems, and thats ok. Sigh.

I love this color combo! Pink is our wedding color (so I’m a tad biased) but this was also my sorority colors. :) It goes so well together!

Love your color combo! But then I’m a bit partial since ours are sage and light pink. :-)
