I love to dance regardless of who is watching, and enjoy a good laugh with my girls. I have a soft spot in my heart for planet Earth, my two dogs and my fiance. Fall is my favorite season (which is why we are marrying in September), but I love a warm summer day and the Colorado mountains in the winter. Where to Moon – the Finale

May 21st, 2010 @ 11:04 am by Mrs. Argyle

I’m super Type A (in case you missed that memo), so knowing all of the details for our trip, making sure we got travel insurance, and working with a really knowledgeable travel agent were all crucial pieces to me. It’s also why we booked our honeymoon nearly two months ago. So, with our ideas in mind, I contacted Laura at Bliss Honeymoons to help us out. Let me just say – she and her team get a big “A” for AWESOME. Seriously. Absolutely recommend her (and her team)!

We chatted on the phone for a bit so she knew what we were looking for, and within a week, she sent us an awesome proposal with three different options. The best part? All three options were around the same price. The hard part? Deciding between the three. Actually, not really. That was the easiest part and most obvious part.

So, what did we choose?

GREECE*

We’ll fly into Athens, and spend about a day and a half touring the ancient city – which is right up Mr. A’s alley. And, we’ll get to stay here:

After our quick stop in Athens, we’ll hop on a plane to spend three wonderful days in Mykonos, and soak in views like this:

And, after Mykonos, we’ll take a quick jump over to Santorini for another three glorious days and enjoy this:

Eight wonderful days in Greek paradise. Fulfilling a childhood dream. And spending quality time with my best friend. It all sounds pretty sweet if you ask me.

Where did (or will) you end up honeymooning?

* We know there is an economic crisis in Greece right now and fully understand what is going on. We will be spending the majority of our time on the islands, and not in Athens. This is also one reason why we purchased travel insurance – something I recommend everyone should do when booking a big vacation.

i’m glad you chose Greece. You’ll love Santorini and it should be quieter there in September (in the summer it’s club central).

Awesome! We are stopping in Athens and Santorini as part of our honeymoon (among other places) but we’re def most excited for Santorini. Cannot wait! I did book hotel and flights back in January before the crisis really started but like you, we are only spending about a day in Athens! Have a great time!

That is like the same trip my mom and i took 2 years ago and it was INCREDIBLE. You will LOVE LOVE LOVE the islands. I really hope that the problems are over before you go, I have a friend who is there now and the ferries are on strike so they got stuck in Athens and couldn’t do their trip to Mykonos. Hopefully it will all be resolved by then!!! Good luck!

You and I are Honeymoon Twins! We are also going to Crete. Travel insurance was smart, although I did contact my travel agent who spoke to her counterpart in Greece- they both said that the news makes it look worse than it is, and that travel in Athens is actually quite safe and wasn’t really affected by the protests (well… other then those darn airport closures!). Yay for Greece honeymoons!!!
