Ms. Stripes, Los Angeles Age and Occupation: 29, Costume Designer/Stylist Fiancee's Age and Occupation: 29, Chef Engagement Date: June 23, 2009 Wedding Date: September 2010 Venue: Heritage Square Museum About Me: I’m a type A creative with a messy streak, a loud mouth, and an uncanny knack for combining clashing patterns. I can usually be found with my nose in a book, my feet (or at least my toes) on the ground, my head in the clouds, and my arm around the prettiest girl you ever saw- aka Fiancee Stripes. Together we’re planning a FUN vintage/modern French carnival wedding extravaganza and rockin’ dance party on a dime. (Say that three times fast!) Good coffee, long lists, Uniball pens, and my iPhone keep me sane, and making art, making trouble, and making out keep me happy! I love urban adventures, bike rides that end with afternoon drinks, breakfast for dinner, beautiful light, photography, travel, my furry family, and of course, my beautiful fiancee! I’m super excited to be here and can’t wait to share all our adventures as we craft a joyful, budget-friendly, design-savvy and all-around AWESOME wedding!
About Ms. Stripes

My Wedding Ring Rocks!

May 21st, 2010 @ 3:24 pm by Ms. Stripes

Sans rocks.

Yup. Another uber creative title from yours truly. Oh! And I apologize for my light posting lately—the last few weeks have been super stressful and I’ve been suffering a pretty severe case (admittedly self-diagnosed) of waitingforitalltocometogether. So I’m happy to report back that it’s all really happening, people!

In a big way. And to start the party right how about I show you my absolutely stinking gorgeous wedding ring? You know—the one you all offered so much advice about here and here? Yeah the ring. It arrived yesterday and it’s ridiculously amazing!

So without further ado, my wedding band:

My Wedding Ring Rocks! : wedding los angeles rings 11 1

My Wedding Ring Rocks! : wedding los angeles rings 21 2

My Wedding Ring Rocks! : wedding los angeles rings 31 3

My Wedding Ring Rocks! : wedding los angeles rings 41 4

My Wedding Ring Rocks! : wedding los angeles rings 51 5

My Wedding Ring Rocks! : wedding los angeles rings 61 6

My Wedding Ring Rocks! : wedding los angeles rings 71 7

Yes, in the end I went with my original inspiration/vision. I decided that I liked the simplicity of a band sans diamonds (gasp!) and I am thrilled with the way it complements my sparkly engagement ring! As for the paramount white/yellow OR yellow/white decision, I went with predominantly yellow gold because it’s my favorite and it just looked more unique to me.

I truly didn’t expect to LOVE my ring the way I do though. It’s an amazing little piece of art that I get to wear every day for the rest of my life (well, starting in just under four months)! Squeal! And I could not be more impressed with the craftsmanship, the heft, the intricate detail. It is truly perfect and it’s so much more beautiful than I expected. A bajillion thanks and big hugs to Adzia for creating this little masterpiece! LOVE.

Is your wedding band a custom job? Are you as excited with the end product as you were with the inspiration? AND are any of you suffering from the dreaded waitingforitalltocometogether??

Yay, I LOVE it! I voted for the exact thing you ended up going with so I’m happy that we have the same taste, tee hee. It looks super awesome, Stripes. We actually just got Mr. Jelly’s wedding band custom made because the Macy’s one didn’t work out (will blog about this soon) and now I’m thinking of getting a custom one done too because it’s so fun to have things exactly how you want them!

I got a custom band too and was also thrilled with the result, and am so excited about the unique piece of art I get to wear. I cried when I saw it and tried it on for the first time - and I’m not a crier!

It is very pretty. It looks great next to your engagement ring too. We are not going for custom rings for the wedding but now I am thinking…..

very nice and unique!! are you planning to wear them together or switching between together/alone?

I have our band custom made too, sporting some design, a tiny stone and the intial L, which is the intial for both of our last name, and for the Lord and for love.. kinda cheesy eh?

gorgeous! our rings we fell in love with are flower-y as well :) nice job! What about Fiancee Stripes, what is she doing?

(Also, I accidentally typed “fiancee strips” but that would be something completely different…)

@farmersdaughter: Yes. I totally almost cried too. It’s just such a big moment- can’t wait for the actual wedding!
@dada: I’ll probably switch up how I wear them, sometimes together, sometimes just the daisies! And I LOVE a joint/meaningful letter on the band…and a stone? Sounds pretty!
@bluebutterfly: You should definitely look into it- we went custom b/c we couldn’t afford the we loved out in the world!
@Miss Seahorse: Yes- fiancee strips would be a different story entirely! And maybe not one for the WB audience, lol! Anyhow- F Stripes is also getting a custom ring from Adzia which is a super hush-hush secret, but will be debuted here just as soon as we get our grubby paws on it! :)
AND I can’t wait to see your flowery masterpieces! :)

Your rings are much too, much too beautiful to wear on the same finger. I think you should wear your e-ring on your right hand so both get the attention they deserve. They are stunning!
