I found some celebrity-inspired hairstyles that I want to wear for the wedding.
Besides the fact that I think these women are gorgeous, I really love this look and have always known that I would wear my hair half-up and half-down with soft cascading curls. I think it is romantic and elegant without looking too “prom-ish“. It’s my idea of the perfect wedding hair.
Unfortunately, I ran into a small problem. The month before Mr. Sunrise proposed, I had chopped off about 13 inches of my hair. At the time, I was getting tired of my long hair and wanted a fresh new look. So snippety-snip-snip… all my beautiful long locks were GONE! It was the shortest I had ever cut it. *sigh* How was I supposed to know that only a month later, I would have a shiny new ring on my finger and be planning my dream wedding?
This photo was taken a few days after my new haircut as we visited Mr. Sunrise’s family in Chicago for Thanksgiving. See? My hair was sooo short.
Although it was much easier to manage, I only liked my little bob for about a week, and then I started to really miss my long hair. I decided that short hair is not for me and I have been desperately trying to grow it out ever since.
Fast-forward six months later and it still hadn’t grown very much at all.
I was sad because my hair was growing at such a snail’s pace that I feared it would never be long enough to wear it the way I wanted it for the wedding. In fact, it just looked bad because it was starting to appear limp and lifeless as it was slowly growing out. The above photo was taken at a wedding fair several months ago.
Now here comes the good news… at this same wedding fair, I discovered a magical little gem that made everything okay again. Clip-in human hair extensions! There was a little booth set up where a local salon was doing demonstrations on several ladies. I was a bit skeptical at first, but decided to get in line and give it a try. Why not, right?
The nice lady matched some extensions to my hair color and clipped them in place as I carefully watched with the hand mirror.
She explained that the extensions are made of 100% human hair, so they can be flat-ironed, blow dried, curled or shampooed just like my regular hair. The clips were very strong and stayed in place nicely. They were also hidden so it looked very natural.
Aaannd voila! Instant wedding hair!
You can’t even tell it’s not mine. Of course, I would spend more than 2 minutes putting them in and I would definitely style it better, but what do you think, hive? Think I could I get away with extensions for the wedding?
What hairstyle are you wearing for your wedding? Are you also furiously trying to grow your hair out? Would you consider wearing extensions?
