About Mrs. Penguin

Our wonderful Weddingbee artist Irene Chan recently delivered our newest generation of icons: Accessories! While we finalize the last touches on them, we thought we’d take this opportunity to brainstorm with you all our next generations.

Many of you have submitted and voted on great ideas on the Ideas Board, and the overwhelming favorite is breakfast/brunch items (as originally suggested by Miss Starfish under her old username), so we’re excited to announce it as our next generation!

Because we like to be ahead of the game, we typically develop 2 generations at a time. So, we need to choose an additional generation. Because breakfast/brunch will be food related, we’re leaning toward choosing a non-food generation as our additional generation (although Condiments and International foods are high on our future lists!).

Some ideas are kitchen/registry items (as originally suggested by Hive Hostess MightySapphire), jungle/safari animals, and popular wedding favors.

So, what say you hive?

What bee generation should we develop after the breakfast/brunch generation?

I like the jungle animals idea. The animal icons are always so cute.

I always like the animal icons too. Basically anything with eyes to me is cute. So if you can make inanimate objects have eyes, I would love those too. :)

I love both Kitchen/Registry Items and Jungle/Safari animals….it’s a tie in my book! Although I would definitely recommend a Miss KitchenAid since that is a staple on wedding registries! LOL :)

Can’t wait to see the next generation!

While I really like the kitchen idea…I think the jungle animal icons would be adorable! Plus: wouldn’t the kitchen items be too food related?

I don’t know if this has been suggested before, but what about sports bees? I know it is kind of masculine, but I LOVE football, so it would be an icon I would choose. Miss Soccer, Miss Football, Miss Baseball, Miss Lacrosse…ect

i like the animals idea but they’ve been done before so recently in the hive. So i would go with favors or something totally different. Food and animals need a rest.

I like favors because nearly everyone currently blogging is either an animal or food (or an edible animal). I’d love to be Miss Sugar Almond or Miss Photo Booth!

I like the registry items! I’m imagining the stand mixer like the vintagey icon for Miss Sewing :) There can be a lot of personality- folks who like to cook, folks who are old fashioned and love them some china, homebodies who love to cuddle up in a comforter…?

ooooh i love the transportation idea! it works because you can target so many different personalities! Not everyone loves brunch or registry items, but everyone needs to get around! (btw, i love brunch AND registry items!!)

I LOVE the registry items idea! Miss Mixer, Miss Blender, Miss Coffee Maker, Miss Bakeware, Miss Frying Pan, Miss Griddle… so many cute options! And with other registry items you can have Miss Candlestick, Miss Vase, Miss Salt/Pepper Shaker, Miss China! I also think transportation is a great suggestion!

How about famous women in history? Or strong female fictional characters? Or careers, or video games or anything that breaks the female and wife stereotypes…
