Mrs. Seashell's Picture
Mrs. Seashell, Chicago, IL / Providence, RI Age and Occupation: 28, Marriage and Family Therapist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Electrical Engineer Engagement Date: September 3, 2009 Wedding Date: September 2010 Venue: The Glen Manor House About Me: Fonts and fashion, stationery and Sundays, photography and french toast... the beauty is in the details for this fun-loving Chicagoan who loves to plan plan plan! The soon-to-be hubs plays "Mr. Fix-It" in our new condo while I swoon over beautiful, personalized stationery and choose shades of aubergine for my bridesmaids' dresses... and thus begins my new fairy tale! Skirting to the East Coast for our September nuptials where my home state of Rhode Island awaits with fall foliage, I'm just a few dress fittings and bachelorette party away from saying "I Do" to a very happy ending!
About Mrs. Seashell

I honestly have no idea how this idea came up during our meeting with the florist. I don’t remember mentioning adding a sash to my sister’s dress, or the fact that it was going to have some sort of floral detail. Perhaps when we were discussing bridesmaids’ bouquets it somehow got thrown in the mix. I’m not familiar with “bridal amnesia”, but if it’s a thing, I clearly have a mild case.

However, at some point during our meeting with our florist, it was decided that she would create a sash with a fresh floral detail for my sister’s bridesmaid dress. I loved this idea because it would then be guaranteed to coordinate with her bouquet, and not be too “busy”.

I think it will ultimately look the most like the first photo, though I wanted to throw in the other ones for your viewing pleasure.

Did you consider using fresh flowers as an accessory?

I’m pretty sure bridal amnesia is directly related to bride brain…just saying. :)

haha, that last picture is flower crazy! i hadn’t thought of using fresh flowers on a sash, but it seems like a good idea, especially since it’ll already match and doesn’t involve any hot glue! :D

The flowers on all 4 dresses are beautiful. I really like your sis’s dress with the color, the flower, and the bouquet.

I was getting nervous as the pictures progressed that you decided that latter pix were more of your vision. Thank goodness it’s not!
