Stamp My Little Heart Out!

May 24th, 2010 @ 3:06 pm by Mrs. Sunrise

A few months ago, I discovered the amazing calligraphic goddess that is Barbara Kua. She is a very talented calligrapher based out of Toronto, Canada. Her work is so beautiful and I knew that I needed to have a piece of it.

Luckily for me, she was offering customized rubber stamps in any one of her many exquisite styles! She recommended them as a great cost effective way to include handwritten calligraphy into the return address for invitations or response envelopes.

What a great idea! I looked through all of her styles and decided that I liked Katie the best. I was so excited! Pulse racing, I emailed Barbara and requested one to be made with my address on it.

Isn’t Miss Katie so whimsical and pretty?

Barbara responded right away and after only a couple quick email exchanges, my completed stamp was on its way to me!!! Yippeee! Check out the cute little box it came in.

She even included a little handwritten note. So sweet.

Wrapped up in blue tissue. So cute! Opening it was fun.

And here it is!! My very own customized Barbara Kua address stamp.

And here’s how it looks stamped on paper and embossed in pink! I absolutely adore it. I hated covering up her amazing calligraphy, but we don’t need any stalkers… so out came the friendly pixels!

Equipped with some wine, Patrick and I sat down and stamped our little hearts out.

Voila!!! We return-addressed all of our STD envelopes.

Our Save The Dates are finally complete! Now we just have to address them and send them on their merry way!

So cute! The stamp is much more affordable than I expected and something to use long after your wedding (provided you don’t move right away).

Great idea :)

Sunrise, could you please tell us where you got the pink stamp pad at? It’s the perfect pink for me, and I can’t seem to find a decent one anywhere.

Thank you!!!

@Kristin: Yes, the stamp is pretty affordable for the beautiful quality you get. I love my stamp and will use it for a very long time! When I move, I’m pretty sure I will order another.
@MyraG: Yay! I’m glad I was able to help you find it. Hope you are as satisfied as I am with mine. :)
@texaslawgirl, @what2bee, @bluestuff: Yes, my name really is Bee. :D Did you guys see my silly costume in my intro post? heehee.
@Miss Spaghetti, @Miss Hot Dog: Aww, thank you!!
@SouthernTulip: I got my pink pigment ink stamp pad from JoAnn Fabrics. The brand is à la mode. http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp;jsessionid=8EDF2F5302FC3C03D782C7B26A666A64.a1p2?CATID=cat2607&PRODID=xprd1057058

@Miss Texas: I don’t mind at all. The font that we used for our names is actually a combination of 2 fonts: Freebooter font and Flaemische Kanzleischrift. Freebooter can be downloaded free from dafonts.com and Flaemische Kanzleischrift can be downloaded free from abstractfonts.com.

NO WAY –another Bee!
I love it!! I am happy with the way our invites came out, but had I known about this, it would have been a definite consideration! I <3 the first font. I can’t wait for the next wedding I’m part of –maybe they’ll want to use this idea!

What inks did you use for your stamping? Green and pink are also my wedding colors. I have a few of the stamps you have used, but am having trouble finding the right pinks and greens. I think you found them!
