Mrs. Seashell, Chicago, IL / Providence, RI Age and Occupation: 28, Marriage and Family Therapist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Electrical Engineer Engagement Date: September 3, 2009 Wedding Date: September 2010 Venue: The Glen Manor House About Me: Fonts and fashion, stationery and Sundays, photography and french toast... the beauty is in the details for this fun-loving Chicagoan who loves to plan plan plan! The soon-to-be hubs plays "Mr. Fix-It" in our new condo while I swoon over beautiful, personalized stationery and choose shades of aubergine for my bridesmaids' dresses... and thus begins my new fairy tale! Skirting to the East Coast for our September nuptials where my home state of Rhode Island awaits with fall foliage, I'm just a few dress fittings and bachelorette party away from saying "I Do" to a very happy ending!

I must be missing something on how to properly use an x-acto knife because I can’t seem to curve cut to save my life! These turned out great, but seriously, what is the proper way to use those things?!

Seashell! Somehow I missed the first post about these! They’re so delicate! I love them!

@ktisthatbees: I’m with you! Mr. Snow’s a whiz with those things and everything I attempt looks haggard and silly!

@ktisthatbees: I’m with you! I have no idea how to properly use an x-acto knife. I also have no patience for things like that so that’s probably part of my issue!
@sapphirebride: It’s a little bit thicker than cardstock. More like posterboard. (Maybe? :)) I can ask my FMIL if you’re dying to know.

Here are specifics directly from my FMIL: i noticed on the comments that a few are wondering what i am using.. its a type of “tag board” that i am finding
in the art department at michaels..( near the posterboards etc) its heavier than cardstock but not as heavy at mat board…
as far as mastering the exacto… slow and patient and careful is the rule.. and keep a sharp blade .. changing the blade as
soon as it starts to feel like it is dragging makes it a bit easier.. !!!

So, might I ask what you are going to do with these after the wedding…? Would you want to loan them out for an Oct 2nd wedding??
