Surprise Mail

May 29th, 2010 @ 3:45 pm by Mrs. Hermit Crab

I LOVE getting our RSVPs back. Anyone with me on this one? It is so much fun to get mail every day, and even more fun when they write a little note on the RSVP card. However, when I opened my mailbox the other day, I also found a surprise package waiting for me.

I tore in the envelope and found this. Hm, curious.

Surprise Mail : wedding nyc stationery Mapout

But look at how cute our names look. We’d better check inside.

Hm, color?

Surprise Mail : wedding nyc stationery Mapbot

Wow!

All pictures are personal photos

Our wonderful map artist, Crystal Kluge, had made two watercolor renditions of our map and sent us both copies. I think they are both so uniquely beautiful, I can’t decide which one I like more. These will make a wonderful keepsake from our wedding. I am thinking about framing them both together, kind of like a Warhol. What do you think? Do you have any thoughts about what to do with these beautiful pieces of art?

Have you received any surprise mail lately?

These are great! What a nice surprise. My save-the-date designer and printer sent us a keepsake printed on thicker more luxe paper. I thought it was a really lovely gesture.

Oh my gosh, they’re so great! How wonderful! I would definitely frame them both and put them in different spots in your house! I did my own map, but I’m thinking of rendering it in watercolor now, because of your post. They’re soooo beautiful!

THIS IS SO SWEET AND THOUGHTFUL. i am tearing up! definitely frame. i think this would be perfect in a guest bathroom and what a great conversation starter!

or maybe use them as covers for your wedding photo album?

i really need to add that i truly love that you have a “map artist.”

I like the one with blue water and green land. It seems logical.

@fanatic888:

I totally agree, that one just feels a little more cheerful and it’s deff the one I gravitated to first.

maybe you could commission the artist to paint a third for your home, and gift each of these to your parents.
