A friend of a friend of mine is designing our invitations. She is an awesome artist, directs her own gallery, and is pretty much cuteness personified!
Here is a sneak peek at the invitations:

As we wait for pro pics to arrive, let me transport you to the days before our wedding…
Bridesmaid CH arrived two Thursdays before the wedding day to assist in all the wedding details gloriousness, and one of the biggest tasks we had to accomplish was finally completing the ring holder for my uncle, our “ring bearer”. I knew we couldn’t go with the traditional pillow for the grown man he is…
I settled on one of my favorite Sunday activities: pottery painting! Of course, in classic Pencils fashion, I left this task until the weekend before the wedding… with just one week for me to paint, them to dip and fire them, and Mr. Pencils to pick it up. Not cutting it close at all, no…
CH and I each chose our own piece and got to work. I was a bit nervous to begin, worried I’d mess it up…

CH started right in and soon had a beautiful creation…

Doo da doo doo… Hi Hive! Miss Sunrise here. I can’t beelieve that I’m a bee! I feel so honored. I was still at work when I opened Pengy’s email. Thank goodness it was at the end of the day and the office had already cleared out because I let out a loud squeal that would probably put a baby pig to shame. Eeeee!! Me, a bee?! I immediately picked up the phone to share the good news with Mr. Sunrise, but after the first ring, I hung up and decided that I wanted to tell him in person. I sat at my desk, all fidgety-like from my excitement, until Mr. Sunrise finally arrived to pick me up.
When I got in the car, I just looked at him with wide eyes and an even wider smile. I didn’t even wait for him to ask what was up when I excitedly blurted, “I’m a bee!!” and proceeded to happily bounce up and down in my seat. Mr. Sunrise knew how much I had been wanting to blog for the hive and he was so happy for me. So happy in fact, that he threw his arms out and started doing the cabbage patch while singing a butchered version of Black Eyed Peas’ “Imma Be“. It was adorable. Then he gave me a big congratulatory hug and we drove home.
After I calmed down a little, I dashed out to the nearest costume store and bought an appropriate outfit that I could prance around in and declare my new bee status to the world.
Hello World, I am the newest Weddingbee blogger, nice to meet ya.

As if that wasn’t crazy enough, I decided that I needed something more permanent… like a tattoo! So I found the nearest tattoo parlor and got inked up. It was painful but I felt so bad-ass.
…To Mr Trail Mix for pulling his weight lately in the wedding planning fun. Consider it a benefit to having a searching-for-employment-fiancé as opposed to a working-fiancé. Mr TM gallantly cut, corner-rounded and attached raffia around almost all of our 200 menus one afternoon, leaving him with a blister on his thumb from the corner rounder and me with a pile of simple and sorta-pretty menu cards.
He also cut and corner-rounded about 200 of our favor tags, also to be tied with raffia (are you sensing a theme here with the use of raffia? Well, you’re right, it’s called “Raffia Is Dirt Cheap and Can Be Bought In Bulk For Significantly Less Than Ribbon”.
Here’s a few shots of his creations:

OK, so that’s not our actual wedding website address but you won’t be surprised to know that this post is all about our wedding website. After deciding on the date and location and then determining our venue, it was the perfect opportunity to find our internet home base.
We knew we wanted something simple but it needed to have at least one of our colors and preferably… be (our favorite wedding word, which coincidentally is also our favorite four letter word - mind out of the gutter people) free.
I searched through all of the usual suspects (allow LMGTFY to help, click here) and ultimately found that mywedding.com was the best choice for our needs. Not only do they have a variety of unique templates but they offer customization options and it’s all… ding, ding, ding – FREE. Cue the choir of angels.

Once upon a time I was uber annoyed that my passport was due to expire in April 2010, and our wedding was a mere 5 months later (read: I’m changing my name, so I’d need an entirely new one AGAIN). Seriously? These things expire once every ten years and within 5 months of renewal I’d have to file the paperwork and pay undisclosed amounts of money repeatedly. Ugh. Timing really is everything.
After whining about this to Mr. Seashell, he made a few suggestions:

There’s a fuzzy line between joyously, tastefully celebrating yourselves as a couple at a wedding vs. unwarranted ego-centric narcissism.
For some reason, I thought of this guy
And on which side falls a guestbook that is comprised solely of engagement photos of you and your loved one? Well, because this is what we did, I’m saying that it absolutely falls on the side of justified and tasteful.
Remember our Halloween-themed engagement photos? I decided to put those bad boys to use by making an album of them for guests to sign. So, it was totally like a regular guestbook, except plastered with pictures of me and Mr. Pug.
The two popular places from which you can order your photobook are MyPublisher and Blurb.

So in my last dress post, I talked about our first bridal shop experience and how we left empty-handed. After a couple of days and after looking some more at the pictures we took, I was glad I hadn’t bought either of the dresses that I had considered. Even though I liked them and they looked really nice, they weren’t quite *me*. That said, I wasn’t sure what would be “me”, or how to find it.
When Fancee’s dress arrived at David’s Bridal and we planned a trek up to pick it up, I realized that I wanted to try on some of their dresses! I didn’t like the idea of getting a dress from a chain—especially a chain of dresses named after some man who will probably never wear one of his dresses— but I did like a lot of the dresses on their website, and I definitely liked their prices. I also liked the idea of being able to try on a dress and compare it to Fancee’s dress to see if it clashed horribly. Yes, I was trying to get over the “two dresses is weird” thing.
So this was the dress experience I was looking for. I tried on a ton of dresses – pretty ones, laughable ones, ones I considered, and even one that I took off before I left the dressing room. Here are some of them! Please forgive the facial expressions, which are more of a reflection of my relationship with the camera than my relationship with the dresses (or the photographer!).

For the final installment of Table Numbers, I thought I would share with you how I made the table numbers, as I had one last one to finish that I haven’t yet shared with you. I know there are many incredibly talented scrapbookers out there, as evidenced by the annual Valentine Swap, so this may be a little redundant for you, but just in case you’re interested, here’s how I put these together.
Here what my table looks like before I start working, with my supplies all laid out
After our confusing(!) rehearsal, I was so ready for our welcome dinner. This would be the first opportunity for us to see most of our guests. I was a little nervous and excited all at once! But most of all, I couldn’t wait to eat and relax a little! We were in the home stretch; we had no more details to accomplish. We could just relax and look forward to the next day.

Ah, relaxing a little… after the fun(ky) rehearsal!
Good morning hive! Please join me in giving a sunny welcome to our newest bee, Miss Sunrise!

About Me: I am a crafty and optimistic, laid back girly-girl who fell in love with a video game-playin’, hip hop-lovin’, Lego-buildin’, computer-techie nerd. I get easily distracted by shiny objects (oohhh pretty..) and I have more shoes than I can count (but I still need more). I love to shake my booty to Lady Gaga’s music but she frightens the hell outta me. Mr. Sunrise and I could not be any more different, but you know what they say… opposites attract! We met over 9 years ago while working for a local grocery store. It was love at first “Clean-up in Aisle 5!” We are both Chicago-born and raised, but recently relocated to Minnesota for his career. I will always remain a Windy City gal through and through, but I cannot deny my love for the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
In my last map post, I told you about our wedding map, which I had toiled over only to be at a loss at where to put it (invitations, wedding website and welcome bags weren’t viable options for this little map). Thanks to your really helpful comments, I got my map printed as postcards for free (well, with $9 shipping) - thank you hmaxwell77 for the tip!
And here they are!

Since people started looking at my hands (er, hand) more often, I’ve been getting manicures more regularly. Me, my appendages, and the Fancy Fingers salon by my office are all pleased as punch over this development.
I usually pick a nail color that goes with my outfit for the wedding, weekend getaway, vacation, or whatever. But I was stumped over what to do for wedding day. French manicure seems to be a standard, right? Well…
In addition to the photos-as-decor fiasco and playlist-related snark, the Tacos also have a not-the-end-of-the-world disagreement on French manicures. I don’t love ‘em, nor do I hate them. It’s not a bad look for brides, bridesmaids, or anyone going out on the town, if you ask me.
Mr. Taco hates them. Like, really hates them.
*shrug*
But since I didn’t want to distract my groom, the French manicure was out.

The Button Bachelorette Party is taking place a few days before our wedding. At the moment, I am in the dark as to what is planned for the two days my bridesmaids and I are spending together. But, one thing I am aware of and excited about is our accommodations!
We are all going to be staying in an absolutely fabulous house right on Clearwater Beach! And… by right on the beach, I really do mean it… see?
