Ms Seahorse, Boston
Age and Occupation: 25, Veterinary Jane-of-all-trades
Fiancee's Age and Occupation: 36, former non-profit fundraiser in search of something better
Engagement Date: October 17, 2009
Wedding Date: September 2010
Venue: Fort Pond Lodge
About Me: By day I'm a cat-wrangler, vet tech assistant, pet-sitter, receptionist, and pre-vet student, but the rest of the time, I'm a former-roller-derby girl turned dedicated-wedding planner. I love reading, writing, bicycles, animals, roller skating, and antique-y things of all sorts. I'm a vegetarian who likes spicy foods, while Fiancee Seahorse is a meat eater who does not like spices. We live outside Boston with our menagerie: a fifty pound dog, a one-eyed, seventeen-toed, toothless cat, and a perfectly put together cat who has a penchant for pooping near rather than in her litter box. In addition to planning our small lake-side wedding, we enjoy running around with the puppy, playing board games (Scrabble, anyone?), having little adventures, talking about how we should really clean the house more, and maintaining our little garden of vegetables and wedding flowers.
Two years ago last April, I played a three- or four-letter word (I can’t remember which) on Scrabulous (remember the good old days?) and got 39 points. Yes, over 30 points with under 5 letters. And then-coworker-and-that’s-all Seahorse typed in that little chat box, “I would be mad, but I’m smitten.” And while that’s not quite where it all began, that was the point where it switched over from “maybe she likes me and maybe I like her, but maybe we’re just friendly happy coworkers” (tee hee, coworkers, yeah…) to “Whoa. She likes me. Do I like her? I think I liker her. Uh, now what?”
What I mean to say is that I commenced freaking out a little bit, which I expressed by not responding to her increasingly frantic emails (“Did you get my message? Uh, how embarrassed do I need to be the next time we see each other?”) and not calling her, despite her sending me her phone number.
I danced around her messages and implied, with more subtlety than I thought at the time, that the feelings were mutual. The next morning, I got a haircut and very carefully planned my outfit for the next day, when I would see her; I even ended up wearing makeup. It was a Sunday and it was a big fundraiser walk for our organization. I crutched around like a rock star and pretended that I didn’t know exactly where she was the entire day. I knew exactly where she was.

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 36, Radio Producer
Engagement Date: May 22, 2009
Wedding Date: April 2010
Venue: Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort, St. Thomas
About Me: I'm a happy, laid back city girl that can find the silver lining in any situation. An optimist at heart, my motto is to turn your "what ifs?" into "so whats!". My fiance is a radio producer and the biggest Cubs fan you'll meet - our apartment decor definitely shows it. He and I grew up next door to each other and because of it, we have the best home videos and easiest holiday dinners. We are planning an intimate wedding in the Virgin Islands and a cocktail party in June for 150 of our closest friends.
After taking pictures in the lobby with my family, everyone headed up to the terrace where Mr. N and his family were awaiting my arrival.

Engagement Date: October 11, 2008
Wedding Date: June 2010
Venue: New York Botanical Garden
About Me: I love all things food, books, our furbaby, Rashi, and adventures with my amazing fiance (oh, and saving the world!). This summer I will not only be a bride, but a bridesmaid, officiant, and attendee as well---it's all about weddings in my life right now, full of so many exciting moments and projects. We're planning a fab New York City wedding weekend full of family, love and lots of color!
Are you ready for the big reveal? I think I’ve kept you in suspense long enough.
So, I searched online, printed out pictures, visited Kleinfeld’s with my mom, and found my dress, but I did not buy it. Catch up on Part 1 here.
Here’s a hint: the dress I fell in love with just so happened to be one of the pictures that I brought with me (and showed you) and also happened to be the first dress I tried on. I tried on several after it, but none of them felt just right like the first one.
However, my mom wanted me to mull it over, and we also knew that there were several other women that would love to be included in the dress search. That is why, several months later, I headed back to Kleinfeld’s with no fewer than 11 people in tow. Don’t believe me? Check it out:
If by any chance you are Mr. Hermit Crab and you are reading this point, you must close the window and walk away. Gone? Whew, ooootay.

Mrs. Oyster, Dallas
Age and Occupation: 30, Music Teacher
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 46, Art Teacher
Engagement Date: January 9, 2009
Wedding Date: July 2010
Venue: The Tower Club
About Me: I'm a Texa-Californian with a penchant for sparkly things and a tendency to think a lot. I've been known to sing random songs or dance when there is no music on. My fiance and I love world culture, we love to travel, and we have an incredibly eclectic taste in music. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate our marriage with our family & closest friends. We're planning an “urban black-tie” wedding and hope to incorporate our personalities and some of our own interests. We look forward to a life of love, laughter, good music, beautiful art, and to creating our home together with our four (!) cats.
Like most brides, I started looking at dress pictures as soon as I got engaged. I had no idea what our wedding would be like, but whenever I saw a dress I couldn’t stop thinking about, I figured it meant that there was something about it that spoke to me, and I saved it.
Originally, I’d denied the excitement these dresses held for me, but after I got that self-image stuff out of the way, I decided to look at them again and see if any of them had jumped into my subconscious.

Mrs. Sewing, San Mateo, CA/Honolulu, HI
Age and Occupation: 24, Electrical Engineer
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Electrical Engineer
Engagement Date: June 27, 2009
Wedding Date: July 2010
Venue: Anela Garden Chapel & Japanese Cultural Center, Honolulu
About Me: I'm an easily entertained, compulsive idea-scheming machine who loves good art, good food, and a good engineering challenge. I'm planning a half-destination wedding on the beautiful island of Oahu - imagine a plethora of movies, art and games; savory Hawaiian food; blended Chinese and Japanese cultural details; lush, fragrant tropical flowers and all the air conditioning a NorCal native could want! And once I marry the love of my life, we'll come back to the 'mainland' to party it up all over again in my hometown of Salinas, the salad-bowl capital of the world!
Life threw us a curve ball. It happens. Luckily I managed to hit a home run, instead of striking out. (Oh no, a sports metaphor! Mr. Sew’s going to revoke my nerd license…)
Off the recommendations of reader Drea, my brother, and Yelp - we found a restaurant in Santa Clara for our Chinese banquet reception.

The first positive sign was from China Stix’s website. Hello - an endorsement by the famous Martin Yan, of Yan Can Cook? It’s got to be worth checking out.

Mrs. Frog, Phoenix, AZ/Chelan, WA
Age and Occupation: 29, Public Relations
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Online Sales
Engagement Date: February 8, 2009
Wedding Date: July 2010
Venue: Amy's Manor
About Me: I'm an opinionated Midwestern girl now living in the Valley of the Sun marrying a laid back Northwestern guy. I'm equal parts sass, silly and sweet. I'm fiercely loyal with a strong devotion to my family and friends. I have a not-so-secret obsession with apple juice, a new obsession with DIY projects and I love a really good cheese plate...with lots of wine. After 7 blissful years of dating, I'm having the time of my life planning the destination wedding of my dreams to my Mr. Frog-turned-Prince Charming.
Last we left off, Frogger and I were feeling very frustrated and disappointed that our dream venue wasn’t going to work out.
**side note – I’m being forced to watch some Ultimate Fighting match and seeing the brutal hits these men take is extremely difficult to watch. Why would anyone put themselves through that? Men come up with some really creative ways to injure one another.**

I apologize for the visual (trust me it could have been worse, I’m being kind – don’t believe me? Do a Google image search for “UFC” and see for yourself, yikes) and besides, misery loves company.
Ahem. So we decided it was best to wait until we were there on a vacation to really roll up our sleeves and hit the street to find our venue. Luckily, our vacation was just a few weeks away so we didn’t have to wait long.

Mrs. Hamster, New York City
Age and Occupation: 28, Finance Gal
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Finance Guy
Engagement Date: March 9, 2009
Wedding Date: May 2010
Venue: The Pierre Hotel
About Me: I'm an original Jersey girl living it up in the big NYC! I love baking for others, hosting brunches, and exploring NYC with my mans. Besides Mr. Hamster (of course), I'm attracted to shiny things, bold colors, snacks, matching and coordination, pork and duck fats, miniature versions of things, corny jokes and puns. We are planning a swanky Spring wedding in the heart of NYC, followed by a second reception in Singapore. From one city that never sleeps to another - I can't imagine a more exciting ride!
In my last rehearsal dinner post, I shared my grand plans to print my painstakingly hand-crafted (on Microsoft Word) rehearsal dinner invitations. Well, as is the case with the best laid intentions, this plan went out the window when:
- I couldn’t figure out how to print on anything smaller than 8.5 x 11 (don’t laugh)
- I realized that we’re quickly running out of a very precious resource:

Time - where did it go?
Crap.
Enter the world of Paperless Post, or as I call it - “Evite for those who don’t want to send out Evites.”

Mrs. Lace, Pasadena, CA
Age and Occupation: 29, Elementary school teacher
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Engineer
Engagement Date: September 6, 2009
Wedding Date: June 2010
Venue: Orange County Performing Arts Center
About Me: Born and raised in Southern California, my fiance and I are marrying in Orange County. We're planning a vintage wedding with a modern twist. I am an elementary school teacher by day and a wedding planner by night. I love reading, blogging, scrapbooking, trying out new DIY projects, buying awesome finds at incredible deals and spending time with friends and family. Trying new restaurants, traveling and shopping also top my hobby list. I'm anxious to share my wedding ideas and planning with the hive!
With only 45 days till the wedding, we have a lot going on:
- Mr. Lace started a new job.
- I’m wrapping up the school year which means prepping for Open House, report cards and packing up my classroom.
- I’m still waiting to hear about my pink slip and trying to figure out how we’re going pay the bills and for the house if I do end up getting laid off.
We’re in pretty good shape, but we still have a lot of things to take care of and it’s getting to the point where I have to just let go. I’m generally a pretty controlling person and when it comes to these DIY projects, I KNEW I could do them if I just had enough time. However, regardless of my DIY abilities, time is NOT on my side. I had a few more projects lined up that I would’ve loved to do. However, I had to drop a couple of DIYs that I realized that I wouldn’t have enough time or energy to complete…
… like these DIY straw flags… let go.

Mrs. Cola, Mountain View, CA
Age and Occupation: 27, Product Communications and Promotions
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Managing Partner and Senior Designer
Engagement Date: March 5, 2009
Wedding Date: June 2010
Venue: The Mountain Terrace, Woodside, CA
About Me: I’m a Washington State native, enjoying life in Silicon Valley California with my fiancé, our three kitties and one leopard gecko. I like reading wedding blogs, Photoshopping wedding design mock ups, making lists, and planning, planning, planning! I’m a bit of an anomaly, on one side I’m a very girlie girl, I collect shoes, I lay out my outfits 4-6 weeks in advance, and I’d never leave the house without my hair curled and makeup on. But on the other side, I’m a total tomboy, I love to go camping and hiking, play drinking games (hey, I’m Irish!) and most of my closest friends are guys. My fiancé and I are planning a DIY-focused wedding with a balance between easygoing (what he wants) and chic and stylish (what I want), and are tying it all together with elements in lavender, sage, butter cream and chocolate.
I can hardly believe it, but today is our one month mark until the wedding!

{Source}
And I’m sure only insanity is to follow! I’ve re-done my ’to do’ calendar, updated my lists, added making more lists to my lists, and am constantly thinking of one more little detail that needs to get done in the next month.
The closer we get to the wedding, the more little inconveniences like late RSVPers adding a guest, packages of supplies not arriving on time, and people reminding me how close it’s getting to the wedding are becoming more and more frustrating.

Mrs. Paisley, Orange County, CA
Age and Occupation: 25, Journalist
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Spanish Professor
Engagement Date: September 2008
Wedding Date: June 2010
Venue: Family Lake House
About Me: From my earliest days I attracted attention, as much for my intelligence as for beauty. I display an originality, a perspicacity, a certain je ne sais quoi that sets me apart. I posses a mysterious authority which compels people to do my bidding. I am a regal blonde with classic features and the daintiness of Dresden porcelain. I am poised, soft-spoken, and well educated... Okay, now that enough eyebrows have sufficiently shot through the roof, everybody can relax---I kid! I'm just a sarcastic NorCal-turned-SoCal girl who loves outdoor activities, books, letterpress printing and of course, Professor Paisley.
Like justbefore I licked our invitation envelopes shut, it dawned on me that we must have a wedding map. Let me explain: We have the bare minimum when it comes to an invitation suite, which I printed myself. We only have one envelope, the invitation and a reply card/envelope. No tri-fold enclosure, ribbons, inner envelope or other extra goodies.
I knew I loved the simplicity of our invitation suite, but I thought a map would be a nice touch. So I sat down with my drawing pad, Googled around for inspiration from various artists of wedding maps, then drew my own map design. An hour later I was satisfied. I finished it by coloring it in with colored pencils. I used pencil shavings on a cotton ball (using the cotton ball to smear the color onto the paper) to achieve the dreamiest, most blended color.
Well, I know you want to see it already, so here is a portion of it:

Since it is a map to our wedding, I can’t show all of it. That is about half of it.

Mrs. Latte, Boston/NYC
Age and Occupation: 29, College Admissions Counselor
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Elementary School Teacher
Engagement Date: August 23, 2008
Wedding Date: July 2009
Venue: Stage 6 at Steiner Studios
About Me: I am an East Coast girl marrying a West Coast boy. After 2 years of over 3,000 miles between us, Mr. Latte and I are looking forward to finally living in the same time zone/coast/city/home and living “normal couple” lives. I am a crafter at heart and enjoy dragging my friends into new craft projects. I love my Mac, baking cupcakes, wrapping presents, my BlackBerry, naps, good NY style pizza, Jack Bauer and of course, Mr. Latte. I love him a latte. :)
Did you know that some types of bees hibernate? Yup, and apparently, I’m one of them. After many months of hibernating, I’m finally back…
I’m sorry for this ridiculously delayed post. It’s been (gasp!) 10 months since the Latte wedding, and I’ve been majorly procrastinating writing my recaps. Dealing with lots of life transitions all at once (moving cross-country, leaving family and friends, making new friends, finding a new job, being a wife!), coupled with a hefty dose of the post-wedding blues, just became so overwhelming that I did what I do best: hibernate. Honestly, I still feel like I’m transitioning to this new lifestyle, but it’s getting better each day… and I’m finally ready to share the details of the big day with you all!
But before we get to that, let’s REWIND. There are a lot of wedding-related details that I never got to share with you, mainly because they were started and completed in a matter of days. So, this hibernating bee’s going to REWIND and share those details before recapping the wedding.
And today’s REWIND takes us to 2 weeks before the wedding.

Fiancee's Age and Occupation: 29, Chef
Engagement Date: June 23, 2009
Wedding Date: September 2010
Venue: Heritage Square Museum
About Me: I’m a type A creative with a messy streak, a loud mouth, and an uncanny knack for combining clashing patterns. I can usually be found with my nose in a book, my feet (or at least my toes) on the ground, my head in the clouds, and my arm around the prettiest girl you ever saw- aka
Fiancee Stripes. Together we’re planning a FUN vintage/modern French carnival wedding extravaganza and rockin’ dance party on a dime. (Say that three times fast!) Good coffee, long lists, Uniball pens, and my iPhone keep me sane, and making art, making trouble, and making out keep me happy! I love urban adventures, bike rides that end with afternoon drinks, breakfast for dinner, beautiful light, photography, travel, my furry family, and of course, my beautiful fiancee! I’m super excited to be here and can’t wait to share all our adventures as we craft a joyful, budget-friendly, design-savvy and all-around AWESOME wedding!
Once a long time ago I think I mentioned that we’re both wearing dresses for our ceremony. F Stripes, however, is convinced that you all think she’s wearing a suit so she wanted me to set the record straight (hee hee) and treat you to a sneak peEk of our two-dress affair. I am still waffling on my dress but I do LOVE how we look together! Just try to ignore our pointy feet mkay?!

Mrs. Parfait, Chicago
Age and Occupation: 26, Teacher
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Senior Online Consultant
Engagement Date: February 14, 2009
Wedding Date: April 2010
Venue: Signature Events
About Me: I have a soft spot for all things sweet and romantic. Desserts, love songs, sappy movies? Yes, yes, and ohh yes. My fiance and I enjoy singing to our dogs, creating crazy ice cream sundaes, and generally being lovey dovey cuddle bunnies. We also do socially acceptable things like dancing, throwing Frisbees, playing high stakes board games, and taking unreasonably fun road-trips. We're planning a Korean/Serbian wedding with plenty of playful, personal touches!
When I first showed my auntie my floral inspiration, she had some hesitations about my dream flowers—namely, the difficult peonies, droopy sweet peas, and pricey ranunculus and anemones. After some discussion, we agreed to replace my favorites with more budget-friendly options. At that point, I felt lukewarm about my florals and figured they’d be nice, just not what I’d been dreaming of.
The week before our wedding, she invited my mom and I over to her floral shop to show me the flowers she ordered.
For the bouquets:

Pink roses. Alright. That’s cool. But wait, there was more! She invited me into her giant fridge and showed me all of this:
