Mrs. Veggie's Picture
Mrs. Veggie, Raglan, New Zealand/Scranton, PA Age and Occupation: 27, Director of Small Non-Profit Fiance's Age and Occupation: 42, PhD Student & Farmer Engagement Date: June 13, 2009 Wedding Date: August 2010 Venue: Indian Head Camp, Honesdale Pennsylvania About Me: I am a tree-huggin' farmer turned enthusiastic wedding-planner. I live in a house truck and wear flip-flops more often than shoes. In my old life I was a high school Spanish teacher in love with a crazy guy who lived off-the grid on a farm in New Hampshire. But, we decided to mix things up a bit, quit our jobs and move to New Zealand. My southern hemisphere lifestyle involves growing veggies, teaching, running our small non-profit, and surfing. I love laughing, singing, playing, and the inspirational Mr. Veggie (of course!). For our wedding, I am committed to throwing a killer party that celebrates our values without breaking the bank. Look forward to an eco-thrifty summer-campy weekend-long extravaganza.

You May Have Gone Too Far If…

June 1st, 2010 @ 12:26 pm by Mrs. Veggie

… after searching the internet for hours for pictures that sum up how you want your tables and lighting to look, you decide that none can accurately express your vision and you sit down with your trusty MS Word and create something like this:

You May Have Gone Too Far If... : wedding decor reception scranton 1 1

Umm, yeah. I’ve clearly fallen over the edge of the bridal abyss. It’s time to come back to reality.

(On the other hand. I’m getting really excited about how the tables will look. Grey things = mason jars from FMIL Veggie’s barn. Blue things = vintage bottles that my sisters and I dug up in our backyard when we were little. Cylinders = Canned Veggies. Globes = Home made lanterns. Strung lights = Cafe lights, if I can miraculously find them for free, or Christmas lights.)

When did you know you had gone too far?

hahaha, that’s ok I feel ya. I spent an hour on word the other day drawing out a detailed diagram of what I wanted the grooms cake to look like ( i drew out blades of grass, ridiculous). . . there should be a therapy group for people like us

I do this too! Drawing things out help me a lot more than describing it to someone or making an inspo board. I love it– Very cute drawing!

It looks great to me! I’m a visual person too. I actually commented to compliment you on your MS Word skills though! Wow!! I do stuff like this on Photoshop/Illustrator, but I wouldn’t even know how to begin on Word! Impressed. :)

Don’t feel crazy…or no crazier then the rest of us…I recently did this too! :) I’ve done a paint version of the whole room and just a single table. Its the only way to fully express to others the vision we have in our heads! :)

Oh, don’t worry, you haven’t gone too far. My fiance did a full 3-D rendering of our table layouts in InDesign. So now you can view our tables from whatever angle you want. What a show-off, right?
