One year ago this very weekend, we were married on a sunny and beautiful spring day. I thought the most fitting way to end my recaps would be of that day. (Happy Anniversary, Mr. P!)
So here goes: Our day to remember!
I woke up very early, around 7 AM. Despite staying up until 2 AM the night before, I was too excited to sleep. Looking down from our suite, I could see our wedding venue, and it got me so excited. It was such a beautiful, serene sight to behold.

Throughout the day, I could see the progress of the set-up for the wedding and cocktail hour. I was SO giddy!

I went to the gym as Mr. P met up with a buddy that had flown in late the night before. My mom had called to say that she was having breakfast at this funny little place in town called Lindsay’s Roost. Lindsay’s is run by Robert Lindsay, and is a great little hole-in-the-wall diner. We have been going there for years and was our little secret breakfast place. There I found the room filled with people from our wedding. I guess it wasn’t a big secret.

Mr. Lindsay congratulated me on our wedding and gave me a Lindsay’s Roost t-shirt!
I had NO appetite and after visiting with my family, I went to my room to change to head out to the pool. It was late morning, and I had time before my 1PM hair appointment. I guess I should have been stressing out and checking on things, but I figured Esme, our coordinator, had it under control. (In retrospect, I should have taken a peek at the cakewreck, but that’s probably just as well.)

Mr. P and I don’t care much about superstition and tradition, so it was no big deal that we were hanging out at the pool together, along with a couple of friends there for the wedding. We saw several of our guests and it was fun to just relax before the big event. It was bright and sunny with clouds the passed over the sun, casting the occasional much needed shade. Some worried that it would rain, but the forecast called for sun and some overcast conditions later in the afternoon. That would eventually be PERFECT for our garden wedding.

TIP #1: Girls, try to RELAX a little before your event. If you heeded my tip from my rehearsal post and have a great coordinator, you can kick back!
I vividly recall laying there, the sun on my face and NOT wanting to get up… for my own wedding! It was so gorgeous and peaceful! But I remember thinking that I’d be late and mad at myself if I didn’t. So I went to my room, put on a track suit and headed down to the salon for my hair appointment. I didn’t do the getting ready together thing with my BMs. That required too much coordination. Instead, on their own, they had gone there ahead of me, gotten their hair done, and got themselves ready to meet me back at my room by 2:30.
Waiting there at the salon was BM, Abby. She showed me the petal cones that she and the other BMs made and left there for Esme to handle. She also ensured me that things would be fine and were taken care of. Meanwhile, the florists arrived in my room and left the flowers. Here’s a shot of me getting my hair done. Sans makeup. Quick, look away!

I arrived in my room to find my three pretty bridesmaids all gussied up and ready to go. I still had to get dressed and put on my makeup (I did my own makeup). As I did, the girls arranged for a little snack of fruit, cheese, and Champagne. It was so nice!

Here are some getting ready and detail shots.

We were running late! As I was getting ready, one of the photogs was in Mr. P’s room, getting pictures of him preparing. They even had time to get pictures of him and the groomsmen!!
