Mrs. Dolphin's Picture
Mrs. Dolphin, Gainesville, FL Age and Occupation: 24, Graduate Architecture Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Interactive Interface Developer Engagement Date: February 14, 2008 Wedding Date: May 2010 Venue: Plantation Bay Country Club About Me: I’m currently a Graduate Student at the University of Florida studying Architecture. I enjoy playing Scrabble with my Fiance, rooting for the Florida Gators, making any drink that involves a blender, cleaning (yes... I’m crazy), design... GOOD design that is, the new Pepsi with natural sugar, taking pictures, discovering new places in the U.S., and obsessing over doing (and designing) everything myself for our upcoming wedding!
About Mrs. Dolphin

Mr. Dolphin and I had a fantastic time on our honeymoon. We had the time of our lives. We never held back—if we wanted to go do something, we did it (which I think is a state of mind everyone should try and be in on their honeymoon). I could just post a bunch of pictures from our honeymoon… but what’s the fun in that? Instead, my awesome husband made this cute little video to give you a better idea of the ’feeling’ of our honeymoon. Enjoy!

Just Mauied :: Our Honeymoon from Mrs Gator on Vimeo.

If you are viewing this post on a mobile device (via Android, iPhone, iPad, etc), please click here to view our honeymoon video mashup on YouTube (a more mobile friendly site, but design-wise Vimeo beats it, like WOAH).

Mr. Dolphin made this video through a compilation of video and photos taken with a DSLR, a HD Camera, our iPhones, and a small Sanyo waterproof camera/video camera. Yes, we looked crazy carrying around so much equipment everywhere we went. I often complained that I was tired of having the camera in my face or I was tired of having my picture taken, but now I understand why Mr. Dolphin was so persistent. I will try and remember this video the next time we go on vacation and he takes 20GB worth of video and photos. Love him!

How well do you plan on documenting your honeymoon?

Your video is amazing…what a wonderful keepsake! Thanks for the idea…my fiance always wants to take videos when we go on trips and I get so annoyed…I am a scrapbooker and would rather have pictures…his videos use the batteries on our cameras too fast! After seeing this, I can totally see why it is worth taking vidoes too. We are going to Maui in two months on our honeymoon and plan to do a lot of the same things you did…the bike ride down the volcano, the zipline, a luau, the road to Hana…this just made me even more excited for the next two months to go by quickly!! Looks like you guys had a fabulous time- we will be that crazy couple carrying around cameras and such as well!! I also love the tatoo at the end- so sweet…we probably won’t be doing that, but I think it is a great reminder of your trip and the beginning of a long and happy life together!

OMG this was our honeymoon too! Minus the tattoo, ziplining, and sunrise at haleakala. But we did all that other stuff too! Shopping at Lahaina, The Royal Lahaina Luau, Mama’s fish house, snorkeling, etc. But I have to say the road to Hana was my absolute favorite part of our honeymoon! Thanks for posting this video and reminding me of all the good times in Maui!

@ALu731: You will LOVEEE Maui. You are going to have a FABULOUS trip. I’m soo happy you are honeymooning there!

@Miss Sunrise: Oh there were some funny conversations on the trip. We plan to make a longer video, mostly for us, that goes through our honeymoon like a documentary. We videotaped our commentary on what we were doing just about everyday. Something only we will like to watch, most likely. haha.

@CorgiTales: Do it!!!

oh my wow! That’s so awesome, and just goes to show you can come up with some pretty awesome results DIYing your own video.

We’re also honeymooning in Hawaii; hopefully Maui will be one of our stops, it looks awesome!

SPECTACULAR! That is a video you will always treasure! I so wish we had done the sunrise at Haleakala while I was in Maui for work! That and Mama’s! Snorkeling at Black Rock was great - though you’re so much braver, I locked my ring in the room! What if a fish ate it?! ;)

Wow, your video puts my little flipvideos to shame but hopefully I’ll be much better practiced by the time of the wedding week and our honeymoon! What a fantastic memoir of your trip!
