About Mrs. Perfume

After we got ready, we headed to the front of the resort for the first look. Mr. P was waiting there with his brother and the photographers. My BMs and I stumbled out of Abby’s car (which we had to drive the short distance up the hill because there was no way we could walk with all our dresses, flowers, and gear)!

Mr. P waiting, and waiting.

I distinctly remember Mr. P’s speechlessness and… his comment of “You missed a spot” pointing to my left armpit where there was a little stubble. Gotta love that man!!! (My sister later brought down a razor for a quick tidy up.)

We went around the resort and took some portraits before the ceremony. We were running SOOOOO late—about 30 minutes late. And Father Jim was pissed. I had mentioned in my rehearsal post that Father Jim is a stickler for punctuality, and apparently he had complained that he was not happy that we kept our guests waiting. I mean, where did they have to go? It’s a wedding, they can wait.

Anyway, Mr. P headed down to the garden first as my BMs and I got some portraits in. And then we headed down there ourselves after Esme found us in the garden gallery and yelled at us to hurry up!

And here are the moments right before the ceremony. I was getting a little nervous, taking lots of deep breaths. People were running around and getting into place.

Esme was conducting and orchestrating everything, making sure everyone had their cues. And the biggest cue of the start of the wedding was the seating of Mr. P’s mom.

I waited in the wings as first the groomsmen walked out, then Mr. P…

Then it was my turn. I peeked around the corner to see everyone turned around looking at me. It was SO exciting.

Then my mother and I started our walk down the aisle. I asked her if she was nervous. She said yes, and I told her not to worry.

Somehow the last sentence in this post is just so touching to me. It’s those little moments that you have with people that mean more than anything else.
On another note, Father Jim continues to make me laugh

Coming out of retirement to say that you are a dazzling bride. Your photos all look like part of some editorial shoot for a vintage glam affair. Hate you. (Just kidding, love you.)
