Well, despite a nearly 20-month engagement, I have managed to keep myself pretty busy this week, as our wedding approaches very quickly! It was all made just a teensy bit more difficult when I came down with a mean case of strep throat - take care of yourself before your wedding, ’hive!
First, there were dress fittings and changes:

They added a layer of pink silk charmeuse under the white so you will get a little peek when I’m dancing - love it!
Then, hair trials:

The woman next to me asked what school’s prom I would be attending, I gently told her that I have been out of high school for many years, and that I was doing my hair for my wedding… with the wedding so close, I thought I would keep the final look a little under wraps for now.
Then, at the height of being sick, there were engagement photos (so we left them for the absolute last minute, sue us!). I’ll share pictures and more about our experience after the wedding, but here is a little teaser!

Then packing OOT bags - we put in two mini water bottles, a bag of pretzels, a bag of chips, a bag of chocolate chip cookies, a handful of candies, Hershey’s Kisses, mints, an apple and an orange, a welcome letter and a quick list of things to do in the city this weekend.
Finally, there has been tying up loose ends of all types - talking to the caterer and the band, visiting the Garden to drop things off, and picking up my dress, emailing with our Rabbi, and finalizing our Croatia trip details (we leave on Monday, yay!), among other things. Oh, one thing I have NOT been doing - checking the weather! For a mostly outdoor wedding, I don’t want to stress out, it will be what it will be (and fingers crossed).
So all in all, it has hardly been a quiet two weeks before the wedding!
However, now that the wedding weekend is starting, all I have left to do are a few necessary pamperings and I’m all set to enjoy my friends and family starting tonight!
I would have to say that this does not exactly line up with the relaxing week I had hoped for, though (aside from being sick), it’s has not been too bad. What was it like in the weeks right before your wedding? If you’re not married yet, what do you envision?
