My family emigrated from Romania to San Jose, CA when I was 8, and I've been a Nor Cal girl ever since! My fiancé is also a Bay Area native, so it’s funny that we met at UCLA, as college freshmen living on the same floor (go Bruins!). Put a Cork In It

June 7th, 2010 @ 1:32 pm by Mrs. Jellyfish

I’ve told you all about my plans to have wine cork place card holders/escort cards at our winery wedding. I decided to enlist the help of my dad and brother on this project, as they’re both very handy and seemed excited about helping with anything involving power tools. They actually came up with several variations on the wine cork place card holder idea, and now I am torn between them. Here are the 3 different designs they came up with:

Put a Cork In It : wedding decor pleasanton P1130268 p1130268

Design #1 (left): Cork on side; Design #2 (middle): Diagonal placecard; Design #3 (right):Horizontal placecard (this was the original idea)

Which one do you like best? Or should I use all 3, perhaps indicating menu choices with each design?

Which placecard design do you prefer?

I really like Design #1, because I’ve never seen it before!

I’m for design #1 first and design #3 second. Design #2 is a no-go to me…….

3 looks more stable, less likely to fall over.

I like design 1 because it’s more unique. But they’re all nice!

I have already made these for my winery wedding as well. I went with design #3 and I am excited to see how they look all set up on the tables.

I like #1 because it’s different than #3, which is the way you usually see wine cork place cards oriented . #2 doesn’t really appeal to me.

I really like design two! It just looks funky and different! Though I’m from Florida so I’ve never been to a vineyard wedding so I could totally be off on the it being different part lol.

I like them all, but I like #1 just a tiny bit more than the others.

I would go for 3 mainly because it is what I am actually doing with my own placecard holders that are exactly like this. :-) I lucked out and know a 2009 bride online who sent me the ones she and her fiance made - talk about easy!

#1 is great…I have never seen that before! #3 would be more work and it’s pretty standard for cork placecards.

I voted for all 3! I think it will look really cool if you put them in thirds. But all of them are really neat and will look great!

All 3! That picture is really visually interesting. But if you have to choose just 1, then #1.

I’ve also never seen #1 done before! I’m doing something like this for table numbers, my mom found an idea of using 2 corks standing up tied together with ribbon!

I like Design #1. I woudlve chosen #3 but you see it all the time and Ive never seen #1. PLUS, it would be less work for your dad and brother not to have to cut a flat bottom on the corks for #2 and #3 :)

I like #1 because it is something new and different, but still easy to read the card.

It was close between one and three, but I went with one because I’ve only ever seen it done like #3. It’s your special twist.
