Then there was dancing, dancing, dancing!!!! I danced with FIL as Mr. P danced with his mom. My mom is not a dancer and refused all invitations to do so. She had a great time watching us. I spent the entire night on the dance floor, forgetting to get pictures of me in the photobooth!! I literally had the time of my life. We were soooooo happy to be surrounded by our friends and family and it was so AMAZING and wonderful to be husband and wife! Hours-newly weds. It is such a fabulous time, ladies. Please savor your hours and minutes during your big day.

I could have danced all night!!!!

The ALWAYS treacherous SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE circle….

But Kerri and her date showed us ALL how its done…

TIP #2: No matter what goes wrong, just savor the good moments. You’ll be happy you did and be happy when you look back. Little glitches are a part of life. And just like life, your wedding won’t be perfect. It’s how you perceive and handle the bumps in the road that makes for positive experiences. (Gag, sorry to sound like Dr. Phil.) Enjoy the little (and big) moments!

I did a last minute bouquet toss. I didn’t think I wanted to, but thought, ‘Hey why not?!’ Samantha, who is married (haha!) got the bouquet. Later, BM Abby rescued it from her clutches and gave it back to me to dry and save.

The night was too short! The lights went up at midnight, and we were a bit sad to see it over. BUT we continued the party in the bar of the hotel! We met up with everyone for drinks, pool, and some carrying on.

But we were EXHAUSTED!! We went back to our room, realized that I hadn’t done the photobooth, and so Mr. P (my new husband!) and I took some before we went to bed… and passed out!!!

Side note: We were so tired, that we slept through most of our send-off breakfast the next morning. We missed almost all of our guests, even my mom and family had gone. We got there at the tail end to see people leaving. Mr. P’s parents and some aunts were there. So we had a very quiet breakfast. Some friends stopped by to say goodbye. I regret not getting up sooner! But, heck, I enjoyed the sleeping in with my husband.

And with that, we gathered our things and said goodbye to the Homestead and went home to pack for our honeymoon!

IT WAS FABULOUS! WE WERE WAS SO HAPPY! WE HAD THE REAL VERSION OF THE WEDDING OF OUR DREAMS. And I wouldn’t change a thing (okay, except for maybe the cake!).
TIP #3: Don’t look back and say, “Would have, could have, should have.” Your day is/was your day. Appreciate it for all that it lacked as well as for all it was meant to be.
And so, almost a year later, Mr. P and headed down to the Homestead this past weekend to celebrate with a new top tier cake, year-old macarons, and some great memories!!!
