Mrs. Cola's Picture
Mrs. Cola, Mountain View, CA Age and Occupation: 27, Product Communications and Promotions Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Managing Partner and Senior Designer Engagement Date: March 5, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: The Mountain Terrace, Woodside, CA About Me: I’m a Washington State native, enjoying life in Silicon Valley California with my fiancé, our three kitties and one leopard gecko. I like reading wedding blogs, Photoshopping wedding design mock ups, making lists, and planning, planning, planning! I’m a bit of an anomaly, on one side I’m a very girlie girl, I collect shoes, I lay out my outfits 4-6 weeks in advance, and I’d never leave the house without my hair curled and makeup on. But on the other side, I’m a total tomboy, I love to go camping and hiking, play drinking games (hey, I’m Irish!) and most of my closest friends are guys. My fiancé and I are planning a DIY-focused wedding with a balance between easygoing (what he wants) and chic and stylish (what I want), and are tying it all together with elements in lavender, sage, butter cream and chocolate.
About Mrs. Cola

Dearest Readers,

It’s early Wednesday morning, just a couple days until our wedding day!

Eeeeeeeee! I just got goose bumps from writing that!

In a little bit I’ll be heading to the SF Flower Mart to pick flowers for our wedding, and later tonight we’ll be hanging out with some of our wedding party who is already in town. Tomorrow morning we’ll head to my mom’s house to help with arranging all the flowers, and then we’re off for a sunset sail with our wedding party, followed by the rehearsal and dinner Friday, and then we’ll be married on Saturday! If I find the time, I might even post some getting ready pictures on mobile blog on our big day.

It’s thisclose now!

And I can hardly believe how fast the past 7 months of writing for Weddingbee has gone by.

I’ve loved every second of sharing our plans with the hive. Your comments, advice and opinions have meant more to me than you will ever know (someone once said that getting Weddingbee comments was like crack—boy, isn’t that the truth!). I’ve learned so much by reading the other blog posts and board members’ posts (and maybe wasted a bit too much time at work doing so!), and so I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all.

Thank you for making this community what it is; a fabulous, supportive, inspiration-filled, friendly place to hang out and talk about weddings online! Thank you for being there, for sharing your kind words or valuable opinions when I really needed them! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Pretty much, you guys rock!

To my mom, my family, my future family-in-law, and friends, we couldn’t have done this without you, and I truly appreciate all the time you devoted to making our wedding day details everything they are. I can’t wait to see it all come together this weekend, and I just know that everything you contributed to our wedding will be completely perfect. I love you guys!

And finally, to Mr. Cola, I absolutely cannot wait to become your wife on Saturday. You’ve been my best friend, my rock, my balance, my everything from the moment you first kissed me, way back when (and even before that, when we were just friends!). Thank you so much for taking this crazy wedding planning journey with me, listening to my ideas, helping with a million DIY projects, grounding me when I was over doing it, and providing encouragement when I needed it. Most of all, thank you so much for loving me as much as I love you. I can’t imagine my life without you in it, and I look forward to our future together, and whatever adventures may come!

And now, it’s time for me to sign off for the last time as a single gal. I’ll see you all on the other side!

xoxo,

Soon-to-be Mrs. Cola!

P.S. Don’t worry, I won’t give you much time to forget about me. I’ve got some great posts scheduled over the next few weeks while we’re on our honeymoon, including my boudoir pictures, wedding party gifts, and a tutorial about how my mom made and embroidered my veil!
