Mr. Peng and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary with separate vacations. What can I say, the honeymoon is over! Just kidding. He and his brother gifted each other an East Coast baseball stadium tour this Christmas, and the only time the teams they wanted to see had their home games all line up was over our anniversary weekend. So, I took the opportunity to fly to NY with him and hang out with my bee pals while he hit up a multi-state tour of the East Coast.

We had a lovely brunch at Craftbar with 11 bees including: (front row) Mrs Cloud, Mrs Swan, (back row, L-R) Mrs Onion, Mrs Dorsay, me (Mrs Penguin), Mrs Canary, Mrs Dahlia, Miss Hermit Crab (one day before her wedding, oh yes she DID attend!), Miss Trail Mix, Mrs Pug, and Miss Thimble! Afterwards, a few craft fanatics (and a few troopers) headed to Brooklyn to check out the Renegade Craft Fair.

If you’re addicted to Etsy (and I suspect that at least 80 percent of Weddingbee readers are) then you MUST go to a Renegade Craft Fair.

Being able to see all your favorite handmade sellers in person is so exciting, and I even met one of my favorite bloggers, Sarah Neuburger from The Small Object. If you don’t know Sarah by name, how about by her cake toppers:

I didn’t get a pic of the booth, but Brookadelphia was there and I finally got my hands on one of their California necklaces. I’ve been wanting one for so long! Here’s mine (mine! mine! mine!), with the star placed over San Francisco:

This is the only evidence I have that Mrs. Dahila was there, zooming out of my camera shot. She begrudgingly came to just spend the day with us. You can practically hear her thinking, ’When the eff can we get out of here and drink some wine?’:

Don’t worry, there was wine and about 60 pounds of oysters waiting for her after the Craft Fair.

Make her one with bacon. Duh.

One of our favorite booths, hands down, was Blue Barnhouse. They make the most hilarious cards on Earth (seriously, on the entire planet). We spent at least 30 mins checking out every card, laughing our butts off:

Of course, there was NO WAY I was going to pass up Miaow’s booth:

Now I’ve got this little buddy from Miaow on my desk. It was a great fair!

We celebrated our spoils with a seafood dinner courtesy of my gracious (beautiful, awesome, and bestest) host for the weekend, Mrs. Canary. She and Mr. Canary taught us how to shuck oysters and we didn’t stop until all 96 of the oysters slid down our gullets. Mmm!

Mrs. Dahlia was rewarded for putting up with the crafts.

The majority of the vendors at the fair were selling their crafts at below their online prices (and of course, there’s no shipping costs). So if there’s a Renegade Craft Fair coming to your area, I highly suggest you go! Upcoming fairs include LA, SF, and Chicago!

Mr. Peng and I are celebrating our anniversary this weekend with a lovely meal at Gary Danko and the promise that we will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but play with Billie and rest for an entire two days. It sounds like bliss.

Happy 2 years hubby! I hope you’re as jealous as I’d be over the seafood dinner you missed.
