Mrs. Pencils's Picture
Mrs. Pencils, Washington DC/Frederick, MD Age and Occupation: 24, Program Director, Education Non Profit Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Administrative Assistant, Ocean Conservation Non Profit Engagement Date: July 26, 2008 Wedding Date: May 2010 Venue: Morningside Inn About Me: I'm a nerdy Northwestern girl who always knew she was meant to live in the East, harboring a deep love of ice cream, underwear, Diet Coke with a splash of Coca-Cola, pashminas, scrapbooking, stationery, wall calendars and books written for preteens. I think every day should include good thin crust pizza, chocolate, an obscure historical monument, lots of laughter, a dash of wedding planning and, of course, amazing Mr. Pencils! I'm loving the adventure of planning a Maryland wedding and Rocky Mountain reception, and most of all, I just love love!
About Mrs. Pencils

There was T minus 1 hour until we wed. We had some portraits to knock out, and knock out we did. Take a gander for yourselves.

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 0468 20 0468-20

Ok yes, I’m excitable, extremely so, I admit it.

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap Partyp Party+P

I freaking love the juxtaposition of all of the above photos. From fun to standard to faraway - our photogs captured it all!

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 0475 20 0475-20

Oh yeah, and they may have said, lean against the fence. I’m pretty sure everyone except Bridesmaid AT, to my left, did NOT understand. She actually looks like she’s comfortable- very modelesque!

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 1063 Im 1063-IM

Ah yes, the bouquets. They were luscious and garden-y and exactly what I wanted. There were three monochromatic yellows and three monochromatic greens for the ’maids. I let them battle out the breakdown! (Side note - it’s a great shot of my “something old” in the above photo. The amethyst ring was gifted to me by my MIL and is so absolutely gorgeous.)

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 0480 20011 0480-2001

I have no idea if they meant to line up with yellow bouquets on one side and green on the other, but if it was unplanned, well done ladies, well done!

I had to get single shots with my women. There were so many different types captured - from the side, us talking to each other, close up, distance - I had to show you a smattering of each style.

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap Partyp04 Party+P04

And of course, my Brother of Honor. The best big brother a girl could hope of having - I can’t say enough about how much I love him and how grateful I am to have him!

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 0506 20011 0506-2001

As if we haven’t seen ENOUGH of these hotties!

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap Partyp05 Party+P05

We had to. Super posed, but whatevs.

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 0507 20 0507-20

NOT posed. He had some crazy dirt on his ass, and I had to wipe it off.

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 0511 20 0511-20

Not jealous, not jealous at all. Not ticked I didn’t get a shot of me with HIS hotties!

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 0530 20 0530-20

Oh yeah, and then we looked into the sun. Brian, our photographer, would let us shut our eyes, he’d count and we tried to open then for a split second, looking nearly directly in the sun. I think it was pretty worth it, minus how we all look a bit stunned.

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 0531 20 0531-20

Look at my face above. Sun recovery!

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap Partyp06 Party+P06

I love love LOVE the above photos of me with my grandmother, my Momo, and my beautiful mother.

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap Partyp07 Party+P07

And the joining of the two families. That’s us with Mr. P’s fam, us with mine, and then us with both, kissing and non-kissing.

Something Good This Way Comes: Party People Portraits : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap Partyp08 Party+P08

We were so ready to get hitched officially at this point. We were also really ready to go inside, out of the hot hot heat and get some water.

All happy photos copyright and courtesy of amazing B. Scott Photography.

Our venue has a fence and a grassy field just like this, I hope our photos around it look as pretty as these.

I love reading all of your recaps! The scenery in all of these pictures are beautiful! In the picture with you and your grandmother (the one in the light blue pant suit), do you happen to know where she got that outfit? My mother only wants to wear a pant suit, and that one she has on looks really great! Cant wait for more of your recaps!

Did your bridesmaids like the convertible dress? And was it easy to wrap? I’ve heard mixed reviews, and I’m contemplating this for my wedding.

Beautiful pictures, I absolutely love the colors, and the backdrop is almost a scene out of a movie.

What joyful photos! I love the cheekiness in some of the shots. :) I confess that I am in love with your veil… could you tell me where you got it or what style it is?
