Today marks 35 years since Mom and Dad Thimble pledged their love and vowed to honor and cherish each other for the rest of their lives. They’re still going strong and have been an inspiration for me in everything I do—especially in approaching my relationship and building my life with Mr. Thimble. I thought I’d share the love with the hive today and show off some retro inspiration in my parents’ real wedding:

I LOOVE this perspective of the newlyweds outside the church, family and friends ready to greet them. The text reads: Marriage is the golden ring in a chain whose beginning is a glance and whose ending is Eternity.

It was a mint green and yellow wedding party, and I see a familiar ribbon trend in my mother’s bouquet! My mom bought all the bridesmaids’ gowns on sale at Kleins for $15.00. She put them on layaway to make sure they were the right sizes first—they all fit the girls perfectly. The tuxes were from After Six, and the flowers were from Torresdale Flowers.

And so we all have a good laugh a curse inflation, I present the catering menu from their reception venue circa 1975:

They had chicken and green beans almondine. And of course, ample parking.

I can’t believe the next generation of Thimble wedding photos will be taken in just FOUR MONTHS! Thanks mom and dad for everything over the last 35 years and for all the love and effort you are putting into making our wedding day as special as yours. Happy Flag Day Anniversary!!
