About Me: I’m a six-foot-three bride with a fifty-foot personality! I love great art, fabulous design, intense color, tons of music, indie photography, watching movies on repeat, and being really awesome. This super-tall, Southern, loud, quirky, neurotic artist is marrying a German, quiet, silly, super-amazing roboticist in an eclectic, funky, fun, snazzy, technicolored June wedding. Anything is game for this shindig, for it is all about us! We’re bringing giant paper cranes, six-foot-tall portraits, fortune cookies, a photo booth, a club-circuit DJ, handcuffs, and possibly a kidnapping to this small Southern town. Watch out, y’all, and try to keep up!

Don’t Stop Me Now

Don't Stop Me Now : wedding emotional georgia Oneweek oneweek

Yep. One week left until the wedding. You know what that means? I am flipping the heck out. I’m a “OMG don’t mess with me or I’ll cry” stressed-out ball of mess. But that comes and goes in waves, because there’s also the “OMG WE ARE GETTING MARRIED” breaking through. I have an incredible amount of things to do, but whatever happens happens. I’m working noon to night on wedding projects, and having a strange amount of fun doing that. Hey, what can I say, I’m an art kid, love deadlines, but also love working myself to the bone and UP TO THE LAST SECOND.

How do I do it? With a little help from Freddie, of course.

I play on “Don’t Stop Me Now” at full blast, do awesome karate-chop dancing, hop around a lot, make ugly dance face, and let it all out.

Tonight I’m gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive and the world it’s turning inside out Yeah!
I’m floating around in ecstasy
So don’t stop me now don’t stop me
’Cause I’m having a good time having a good time

I’m a shooting star leaping through the skies
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I’m a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I’m gonna go go go
There’s no stopping me

I’m burning through the skies Yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That’s why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I’m trav’ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man of you

Don’t stop me now I’m having such a good time
I’m having a ball don’t stop me now
If you wanna have a good time just give me a call
Don’t stop me now (’Cause I’m having a good time)
Don’t stop me now (Yes I’m having a good time)
I don’t want to stop at all

So, to my fellow stressed-out “IT’S ALMOST HERE!” brides, remember the words of Freddie. We’re having such a good time, remember? Unstoppable! So cut, print, glue, assemble, herd the cats, and try to enjoy it all. There’s no stopping you.

Oh, and if you want to have a good time, give me a call… but I promise I’d put you to work. But for now, I’m off to flashdance to Freddie and cover things in shellac.

Fellow almost-there brides, how are you holding up? Everybody that’s already gone through that “last week”, how did you keep it all under wraps?

I am getting married this week too and I totally relate to this post, Miss Scissors! I go from wanting to cry because of frustration to wanting to jump up and down with excitement and happiness more frequently than I would like to admit. Good luck to you with your final wedding plans! Our weddings will be here and gone in a blink of an eye, and I am just trying to enjoy every moment of it. :-)

I gave in and let my friends and family help me the week before the wedding. It felt totally selfish making them work when they were here to play, but I was so thankful for the extra help!

Yay Miss Scissors! You’re so close! I had my “OMG” week about a month before the wedding. Then it was smooth sailing and I could enjoy myself. You’ll get there! :)

I did the SAME thing, Scizz! I’d blast Queen each time I got in my car (Don’t Stop Me Now and You’re My Best Friend, mostly) and it’d make me feel betta. Try not to stress out toooo too much and accept all the help you can get.

You can do it! And I am SO EXCITED(!!!!!) to see the results of all of your hard work : )
