Mr. Cowboy Boot left yesterday for an overnight raft trip on New Mexico’s Rio Grande. This is a fairly common affair—he’s a part-time raft guide—and overnight trips come up about once a month. That also means that once a month I can expect an adorable surprise.

Last night, as I was crawling into bed, I pulled back the covers to find this note:

It says:

Reason Number 82,761 Why I Love Mr. Cowboy Boot : wedding relationships tabernash Sdc110301

Yep, that’s my married name (Mr. CB’s last name) on there. I think he had fun writing that.

Cuute! Mr. Jelly hides notes all over the house before he deploys, so I find them when he’s gone. It’s awesome.

Aww!! I love when my husband leaves me love notes! It’s just a sweet reminded that they really are thinking of us! I have a T new last name too! Yay for T’s! Im a dork! Ps your sheets look very cozy! The other day I woke up while we are taking a nap together and he was already awake watching me sleep and the first thing he said to me, “You’re so beautiful!” AWw…im melting now, arent we loved!

How sweet & thoughtful.

My fiance and his mom had a thing as he was growing up where they’d move shoes so that the toe and heel of each shoe in a pair were facing each other (kinda like !i). To them, it was a random indicator of “I love you”. He told me about that once in random conversation and then ever since I’ll randomly find my shoes or bedslippers arranged the same way.

I work shift work, so I often leave Mr. Valhalla notes when I work nights, and he leaves me notes to read at breakfast when I get home in the morning. I love that guy

Lucky girl! I love little shows of affection like this.

Last year my husband went on a 10-day hike in remote Siberia. There were so many beautiful wildflowers surrounding him that he picked a few here and there to save for me. Then he felt inspired to write me a series of love letters, which turned out to be the perfect way to preserve all of the pressed flowers.

Once he got back he began handing me a letter every so often to read. Sometimes one was sitting out for me when I got up in the morning, sometimes he’d hand me one just before he’d head into the kitchen to start cooking. I never knew when I would get the next one. They were incredibly beautiful letters, and I desperately wanted to read all of them at once, but I loved the fact that he drew the whole thing out over a few months.

There were 2 letters in particular that I had to wait for, though: one was “To my wife” which I couldn’t open until we were married (last October), and the other was “To the mother of my child” … which I’m happy to say I’ll finally get to read in another 7 months!
