Mrs. Knitting, Toronto Age and Occupation: 24, Student Recruitment Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Neuroscience PhD Candidate Engagement Date: October 2009 Wedding Date: December 2010 Venue: University of Toronto Faculty Club About Me: I'm a pearl wearing, etiquette book reading Toronto girl who loves cooking and baking, museums, charm bracelets, and collecting books on Jackie Kennedy (a lot). I've been known to spend Sunday mornings at the antique market, Wednesday evenings at sister sushi dinners, and any bit of spare time reading. After six and a half years of many late night walks, watching DVDs together in bed, travelling to places like New York, and Tobermory, doing Sudokus together on the couch, lots of Indian food, the occasional yoga class, moving in together and so much more, Mr. Knitting and I are planning a cozy Christmasy (it's a word!), vintage wedding in Toronto complete with many DIY projects (eek!) and lots of help from our amazing group of family and friends.

So I never really considered having wedding programs. They seemed a bit pointless for our wedding and they weren’t something I thought I’d wanted at all. UNTIL…

I FOUND THESE!!!

That’s right, they’re Western Union telegram programs and I’m seriously considering using them because I love them so much. You can download the template here. I think they’d go really well with the vintage theme of our wedding and would just be a lot of fun as I don’t think anyone at our wedding will have seen anything like these before.

What amazing Internet templates have you found? (Yes, I’m fishing for finds!!!!)

I have been using http://www.Dafont.com for some free font downloads - love the dingbats section for some great flourishes/clipart/icon usage.

also love http://www.downloadandprint.com - there were a few months of daily postings of free templates. Its been a 3 week MIA for new postings, but the ones still up can certainly be an inspiration (or a template) for any bride.

Amanda @ Ruffled

The first two images are from my site: http://ruffledblog.com/2008/11/telegram-wedding-programs/

They are from my own wedding, shot by Jessica Johnston. I’d love if you could fix the link!

Thanks guys! I know it was not intentional, I got married a bazillion years ago, so it’s hard to find the end of the photo credit trail :)

I love the idea!

When downloading fonts, how do I go from downloading them to using them in word for Mac. Do I need to do something special to get them in my font bar? I’m a little computer slow :(

@mannellal After the font is downloaded, take the .ttf file and drag it to your “Fonts” folder, found in Users > Library > Fonts. For some applications the pop in right away, for others you will need to quit and reopen.

I can not seem to be able to open the link. I really want to do this idea and running short on time. Is there any other way to get that template?
