About Ms. Stripes

…and that can only mean one (or maybe two things):

  1. I’m becoming an even bigger nerd than I already am.
  2. I’m finally attempting to get the ball rolling on our invitations

I’ll let you decide which it is, but I ain’t gonna lie- it’s a draw here in the Stripeland. I am also designing the suite, creating custom artwork that (cross my fingers) our guests will actually keep, and figuring out the cheapest, most awesome way to assemble these puppies.

It’s a lot. And it’s kindofallconsuming, hence my light posting lately. Still I couldn’t resist dropping by to share a few of my amazing stamps with you. Please join me in totally geeking out, and don’t worry, I won’t blame you if you totally stop reading and run out to start a stamp collection. stat!

Say what? OMG! These nearly blew my mind. MLK, Woodstock, The Beatles, a “Jackie O” Barbie, and the peace sign all in one place?!!!! And the text is priceless! New words: hippie, workaholic, scam, skateboard.

And now it’s back to the drawing board, lovelies. Literally. That’d be me on the couch with my sketch pad and two snoozing dogs on the floor at my feet. Sigh. Gotta love weekends. And of course, I promise to send more frequent updates from the trenches of invitation warfare! Don’t worry, I’m winning this battle.

WHAT?!?! I’ve got to have the Woodstock ones for our invitations! Those are awesome. But seriously…never in my life did I care at all about stamps until planning out how to send our invitations.

I collected stamps growing up (NERD, I know) and I remember waiting each month for the new ‘Celebrate the Century’ stamps to come out. I have them all from 1900 - 1990. Seeing as I haven’t touched my stamp collection since ooooooh like 6th grade, I’ve been considering using them on our invite.

I absolutely love vintage stamps - I found some great chocolate kisses and two dove love stamps that are awesome at Champion Stamp Company in NYC. (I also design stamps if you can’t find what you’re looking for.)

I found two great vintage stamps - the Hershey’s kisses and two doves in love at the Champion Stamp Company in NYC. The ones above are awesome! I also design postage stamps if anyone needs a unique look for their invites.

I did this for my invitations, I found the best luck on Etsy…they even sent me stamps in certain color groups…they look fabulous!!! Just remember if you’re doing calligraphy to remind the calligrapher to leave extra room!!

Lovely collection. Everyone has something…at least your collection doesnt take up that much space…im running out of room for my Cherished Teddies! ;)
