It was April 26, 2009. That was the day that I knew something was up. Mr. Pashmina woke up at 7 AM and announced that it was a beautiful day and that they should get an early start. I thought to myself, “he usually sleeps until 10 AM. Weird.” I told him, “I don’t feel well. Do you think you could get me some Tylenol? Let’s just get a little more sleep.” Then I quickly went back to my dream. (Mr. Pashmina keeps saying: “I can’t believe you made me go back to sleep!”) When we woke up we decided to go on a picnic-breakfast in the park and a visit to the Apple store to fix Mr. Pashmina’s “faulty” phone. It was a seemingly happenstance, last-minute decision to go to “our” lookout spot because “it was on the way” instead of the regular park.

It was there that he got down on one knee. When he asked me I started shaking in excitement, I said, “Are you serious!!?!” His response, with a smile and laugh, “Does that mean ‘Yes’?”

“Yes, Y-E-S!! YEESS!!!”

Hi! I just got engaged last week, and my fiance was so darling–he took me to the zoo and proposed in front of the penguins, because I love them and because they’re partners for life. I was so surprised!!!

He bought the ring at David Jay Jewelers in Warrington, Pa, and they have a concierge service to make sure that your engagement goes smoothly called Engagement Therapy. I couldn’t have asked for a better day!!!!

I didn’t expect for my (now) fiance to propose to me when he did because it had been decided that he would ask me after I let him know I was ready. Ha, well didn’t wait for the go sign and proposed to me in my driveway right before we went to eat breakfast and go horseback riding.

Side story: And we weren’t going to go ride horses because we decided it was too expensive…then suddenly he said we could go and money was fine. Hm, wonder why.

My FI choose Christmas Day to propose but he acted like nothing different was going to happen before hand. We had opened all the presents, cleaned up the wrapping paper, and were just about ready to make our Christmas breakfast when he shouted “Oh wait! I forgot that you have one more present! I didn’t have enough wrapping paper, so you’ll have to close your eyes!” When I opened my eyes, there he was on one knee with the ring out. I FLIPPED!

Adorable, what a sweet proposal. Ours was also on a seemingly ordinary day. At 2.30 in the morning after a night out drinking he asked me to come into the livingroom and watch an action movie before bed. After I moaned about it for ages, I came in to him looking for the remote control under the couch. I knelt down to help him look and he came up with the ring!

Yes! Completely normal day and the FI didn’t give any nerves away for the 6 hours we spent together before he proposed! Wasn’t expecting it that day at all.

Such sweet stories. My fiance proposed on Valentines Day…I know cliche. I knew something was up when he actually wanted to go for a walk through and arboretum (he hates going outdoors). And right in the middle of a redwood forrest he got down on one knee :).. He had the ring for a week, and had been so mysterious about it that we had a couple misunderstandings (especially with his best friend crashing at our place for 2 months)

My now FI and I took a day off from work after an incredibly busy weekend (friends’ wedding rehearsal and wedding, and a 100 mile bike race). We had planned to run a bunch of errands that day and little did I know, the last errand was part of the plan. It was a hot day and I was tired, so by that time I was pretty cranky and he was making me walk through this park area where we first hung out. I just wanted to get the last task completed and go home, but I reluctantly followed him through the park and we stopped and got down on one knee. Totally unexpected! He had the huge ring box in his pocket all day and I didn’t notice it at all!

Too sweet! I love a little planning We were on vacation in Jamaica, at our usual place, and at sunset after a day of just hanging out he got down on one knee in the sand. Once I got my hand from over my mouth I said yes!! A little old lady at a nearby bar who has seen the whole thing toasted us with her Red Stripe - awesome

On our last day of vacation - sometime after midnight - I was in the tub reading a magazine and he got in with me and started asking me weird questions, including “what would you say if I asked you to marry me?” to which I replied - “people who propose should have rings” (I was sure he didn’t) but he replied with “like this?” holding an engagement ring he was palming over the edge of the tub!
My reply - “Is that REAL!?!”
