About Mrs. Cardigan

At the end of part two, I had found a ring that I loved, but I wasn’t sure if we’d be able to size it. You see, the problem is that I have tiny fingers. Like… size 4. So, a lot of people kept telling me that there was no way the jeweler could size my half eternity that small without completely destroying the setting. But, I had faith in him!

Mr. Cardigan and I had a weekend trip to Austin planned right after we bought the band, so on our way home we stopped by the jeweler to talk to him and see what he could do. I literally had butterflies in my stomach when we were going into the shop, because I was so nervous he’d laugh in my face for even thinking it could be done. After all, my past experience with jewelers were less than pleasant. So, I was incredibly happy when he seemed 100% confident that he’d have NO PROBLEM sizing the ring for me. Really? YES! I practically danced out of the store and wouldn’t shut up about how excited I was the entire way home.

We had to wait a few days before he finished sizing the ring, and let me tell you – I was so. freaking. antsy.

I asked Mr. C about every 5 minutes if he thought the jeweler was finished yet, and I’m surprised he didn’t kill me. Finally about three days after we dropped it off, we got a call and he told us it was ready! We headed to his shop and picked it up – and it’s perfect!!! I am so incredibly happy with it, and I feel like we really lucked out on finding such a beautiful ring at such a great price.

See how small it is?

I Don’t Like My Wedding Band, Part 3 : wedding austin rings 23 2

My two rings together! I like that they don’t match perfectly…it adds some uniqueness!

So, that officially concludes my search for a new wedding band! That’s one more thing to cross off the list!

Were you able to find a great wedding ring at a great price? Where did you find it?

My story is much like yours–my fiance gave me my wedding band the same night that he gave me my e-ring. And I thought about it for about a month before I told him that I didn’t like it! We tried all sorts of other bands (my e-ring is a very unique shape and hard to fit). In the end, we found my new band in a case at a jewelry store that does a ton of custom work. It doesn’t match my e-ring either–but it has a similar feel and aesthetic and I love it.

I like them together! And plus, I definitely agree that having tiny fingers is a pain–mine are the same size as yours :)

We share almost identical wedding bands! Mine’s a full eternity, but wish the future hubs had chosen half because I’m afraid I’ll knock out some to the stones. Yikes!

Very pretty. I like it much better than the original ring. Maybe you could make some earings out of the old one. :)

Your rings look gorgeous together! I have small fingers too - size 4. When I went to get a ring resized that I got for my birthday, the lady at the store made fun of me…
