So, last time we talked, I had failed majorly at creating a flower for a Kusudama Ball. But, I am a very, very stubborn person and I was determined to make it work!

So, off to Michaels I went in search of a paper cutter. I found this guy for only about $7.00! I was sold. I grabbed it and headed home to try it out. I (very quickly and easily) cut out some 3X3 squares of paper and began folding. I only had regular tape and boring old white computer paper, so it was kind of difficult to make it work, but I ended up with this:

Much better, right? I crooned over it for about 15 minutes and made Mr. Cardigan look at it/praise my amazing crafting abilities about 10 times before I was satisfied. We agreed that tape was not the way to go, and that once it’s time to actually put these babies together, a glue gun will be our BFF. We also agreed that the thinness of this paper was SO. MUCH. BETTER than the crazy thickness of the cardstock I used last time. I was very proud of this little guy, but that’s just one flower. I’d have to do a lot more folding to actually make a real Kusudama ball—much less enough of them to fit on all of the aisles in our ceremony venue! I see a lot of folding in my future!
Lesson learned: Thin paper and NO TAPE!
Are you as stubborn as I am when it comes to crafting projects?
