Can I laugh at my own titles? I hope it’s as funny to the rest of the world as it is to me. No? It isn’t? Oh well, at least I can humor myself.
Anyway…
I left after I talked about my failures. I went to bed that Saturday night a bit stressed because I wasn’t entirely sure if my vision was too ambitious or just plain impossible.
But Sunday morning, I got up and went right back to it! I printed off a smaller version of the 10-10-10:

It fit easily on the paper, and the curved zeros weren’t TOO curved, so it’d be easy to trace with a knife. I had three choices when it came to X-Actos:

I had a regular long X-Acto, a finger X-Acto that makes it easier to control, and a box cutter. I ended up going with the box cutter to get through the stencil plastic and the finger X-Acto for most of the 80lb paper (sometimes I switched to the box cutter when my finger felt like it was going to fall off).

I started with the 1ssince I was still intimidated by the curvy lines. But as it turned out, it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be!

I was super proud that it came out looking relatively decent! No, it isn’t perfect and none of it will be, but for doing it by hand…I don’t think it’s too shabby!
While I was doing this, Mr. Socks was using one of our bone folders to create crisp, clean folded edges:

Yeah, that’s a giant bin of pretzels. They were weighing down the completed cards so they could be stacked on top of each other. And they’re just tasty. Just like the Oreos right next to them. Nom Nom Nom!
Next step was to trace (Mr. Socks would like you all to know that he’s a VERY good tracer):

And NOOWWW for the moment of truth: Can we cut the paper satisfactorily?

Yes we can! Please excuse my lack of e-ring in those photos… it was early in the morning.

We made a bit of a mess, but that’s when you know that you’re being productive, right?? I got most of the supplies you see on the table when I took design classes in college. That cutting mat saved my butt on this project! I couldn’t have done it without it. It’s a definite recommend for people diving into DIY projects.
Oh, and here are the wrap-around labels we decided on:

This is the front, and here is the back:

Here they are together!

Yayyy!
For our stamps, I ended up going with a custom stamp from Zazzle: our stamp is the same skyline as we used inside the cards!
Oh, and one other thing…We were going to stamp the cards beneath the 10-10-10, but unfortunately, the stamp I got at Paper Source isn’t straight! It’s curved downward slightly and looks a little sloppy:

Boo! So I busted out my calligraphy skillz and wrote it! Did I mention I took calligraphy classes in college? Well, I’m not as good as Miss Jellyfish, but it worked!
I feel awesome about our STDs!
I finished up cutting out the Save The Dates:

Here I am… armed with my box cutter!

Uhhh…I should probably cut my nails so they look about the same length, huh? I guess I don’t really think about my nails very often until I’m staring at them on my blog.

After I cut them out, I wrote “Save the Date!” on each card:

Then Mr. Socks stamped the crap out of the envelopes (Please note how STRAIGHT they are on the envelope-thanks, honey!) and he might have even gone overboard by stamping about 6 more envelopes than we needed… still not sure what to do with those…

I labeled the envelopes, and Mr. Socks sealed them with a gel glue stick.
Then it was time to let my babies go! (Please excuse the fizzy hair… this was right before a haircut)

Yayyy!
