About Mrs. D'orsay

I Swoon.

June 25th, 2010 @ 1:42 pm by Mrs. D'orsay

Between moving to DC, and Mr. D being in England - I really dropped the ball on setting up a portrait session during cherry blossom season. I had also hoped that my dear friend of Jenna Cole Photography would be able to do the shoot, but alas she was busy… birthing a baby!

So I held off and considered 2011, but that puts us almost a year and half after our wedding! The vast majority of our portraits involve us kissing or about to kiss… what can I say, we were really happy to be married!

My thought process was that I’d swing by Whole Foods, make a decently looking bouquet that only needed to last a few hours at most. Then we’d take photos a bit like these (except, in a wedding dress) and Mr. D and me not kissing!

Huzzah!

But then… well. I saw these… from our photographer! Mr. D and I will be in San Diego in August - maybe we do a shoot like this instead!

I guess we could do both, but I know that I will be incapable of NOT trashing my dress. I’ll be all, “you know what would be awesome? Me cliff diving in my dress… weeee!” Right. Like I won’t end up 10 kinds of dirty when we finish.

What would you do?

Tough choice. I’m still deciding on whether or not to do a TTD.

Oh my gosh, when we got our engagement/wedding photos back, we loved them so much, but we were like, “we’re kissing in way too many of these!”

I totally get what you mean, which is also why the hubs and I are doing an anniversary session, and our goal is to NOT kiss so much :) We’re making it a bit more stylized, bringing along some props this time around and going all out. I’m really looking forward to it.

I hope you post the photos if you do it too!

Evan is my photographer too!!! :D As soon as I saw those shots on his blog I said I have to do something like that, so we’re going to first have a shoot at In N Out Burger and them move on to Sunset Cliffs. I say definitely go for it while you are in San Diego!

omg, my jaw dropped when I saw my engagement picture on your blog (photo #2). I definitely recommend taking photos during cherry blossom season, but I will say the crowds are crazy! they are too beautiful to pass up!

I love TTD photos. They are always so stunning to me. I would check around on craigslist or other places to buy a used wedding dress for cheap if you don’t want to trash your own.

I see a lot of cherry blossom photo shoots from my friends back in the DC area (including many from prom back in the day) and they’re completely sweet and beautiful - and extremely possible to do without anything getting trashed. Do the cherry blossoms AND then the amazing totally different San Diego ones.

Hey while you’re around the bee, perhaps a recap or two might be on its way? Pleeeease? :)

I’d personally go the beach route, but that’s just me!

If you don’t want to risk destroying your dress… what about picking up a clearance one from a wedding dress store? A substitute dress to be trashed? =)
