Mrs. Pencils's Picture
Mrs. Pencils, Washington DC/Frederick, MD Age and Occupation: 24, Program Director, Education Non Profit Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Administrative Assistant, Ocean Conservation Non Profit Engagement Date: July 26, 2008 Wedding Date: May 2010 Venue: Morningside Inn About Me: I'm a nerdy Northwestern girl who always knew she was meant to live in the East, harboring a deep love of ice cream, underwear, Diet Coke with a splash of Coca-Cola, pashminas, scrapbooking, stationery, wall calendars and books written for preteens. I think every day should include good thin crust pizza, chocolate, an obscure historical monument, lots of laughter, a dash of wedding planning and, of course, amazing Mr. Pencils! I'm loving the adventure of planning a Maryland wedding and Rocky Mountain reception, and most of all, I just love love!
About Mrs. Pencils

In a word, sanity on our wedding day. I know, sanity from a vendor? Yes—an amazing vendor, two awesome shooters who not only captured every.single.amazing.moment of our wedding day, but also gave Mr. Pencils and I some of our favorite moments from the day. Beyond our pre- and post- wedding photo shoots, our photographers did something that has Mr. P and I eternally grateful.

After the completion of the cake cutting and various tosses, they pulled us outside for a moment of alone time. Sweet, sweet alone time.

Something Good This Way Comes: What We Owe Our Photographers : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 0654 20 0654-20

A slow song was playing inside, and we began to sway…

Something Good This Way Comes: What We Owe Our Photographers : wedding frederick pictures pro pics recap 0652 20 0652-20

We just stared at each other and soaked up these ten minutes, away from the hoopla inside.

We even did a little dipping. We’re obsessed now.

We headed to the balcony where we became husband and wife…

It was a gorgeous, starry, calm night.

We took in the moment and shared a kiss.

We were both sweaty from dancing, dancing, talking, talking inside. I’m so glad he finds me attractive even when I’m a hot, sweaty, mess.

And now for what I call our “Prom Photos”. Enjoy.

I cannot explain what possessed us to take these awkward, hilarious photos. But I share them with you, hive, because it’s pretty frickin’ funny.

Thank you Brian and Susan for giving us this moment in time—it truly is one of Mr. P’s and my favorite memories from our wedding day. No one and nothing can take away those brief, wonderful ten minutes together, “alone”, outside on our night.
