Can’t Wait to Boogie

Can't Wait to Boogie : wedding houston invitations stationery Invitat

The invites are done! Well, the invites are designed, so step 1 is fully complete. And I’m pleased as punch with how everything came out. The funniest part is whenever I show them to someone, it seems that it must be read in your best deep Southern drawl.

Choosing the wording was a bit of a challenge for me.

I wanted it to be informal, and still proudly flaunt that we’re hosting this shindig ourselves. I may not have mentioned it before, but I’m paying for the wedding all by my lonesome. Just me, the bride—which is certainly not your most common situation when it comes to wedding funding. But given the fact that the Boy is still a starving college student, there weren’t exactly many other options. And since I’m such a DIY maven anyway I know we’ll have a gorgeous party with a tiny price tag. Plus, it gives me the infallible excuse to bust out my Yudu and screen print everything!

Ah, my favorite! I love how all the words grouped together so nicely, that the sweet little butterfly (a nod to our bouquets) fit in, and the sassy wording on the response. I’m sure I’ll get a few raised eyebrows by the blue-hairs. But I just want to squeal over its cuteness!! I can’t decide what colors I’ll print these in. I want to mix it up a bit from the STDs. Maybe we’ll use red ink with brown paper backing for the invite, and orange ink for the reply. What do you think?

I love them!

Just a couple pointers:

I’d move “For you to join the celebration as they finally tie the knot” above the date and time.

I’d move the “number attending” line before the regrets line. Many people will just check the first box and then stop reading, so it may be missed if it’s so low. Also, do you have a place for their names?

On your response card, I’d move the “number attending” higher (before the regrets) because a lot of people will check the accepts box and then stop reading, and it may get missed. Also, do you have a spot for their names?

Those are sooo cute! I have only one suggestion, since you decided to have a number of attending instead of the names, you shoul number you rsvp´s in order to know who is comming and who is not. Just a suggestion

Love these!! I can’t wait to see them once they are on paper!

I feel you, girl. While my dadders ended up surprising us with a lil’ $$, I wasn’t expecting it and had every intention of paying the wedding myself, just the bride. In the end I paid 90% of the wedding. Just me.

Love your design! Red ink on brown paper sounds divine–you should go for it. : )
