Yes we did. The wedding took place last weekend and we had such a blast. Please forgive me for not coming back before the wedding to give you all my final farewell as a “Miss”. The last month leading up to the wedding was so crazy busy and I barely had time to finish all of my projects, let alone think. Believe it or not, I thought about you guys all day during my wedding and felt so guilty, as if I ran off and wed in secret.
The weeks leading up to the wedding were non-stop GO GO GO with our cultural ceremony, bridal shower, bachelorette party, traveling out of town, finishing up projects, etc.
Thank goodness I had my sisters and Mr. Sunrise every step of the way, because if it were not for their unconditional love and support, I think I would have gone insane with everything that happened.
Two days before the wedding, we got into a car accident. My first accident ever. Two days before the wedding! Some kid wasn’t watching the road and turned right into us, which left our car totaled and put a huge damper on things. I remember seeing the crash happen in slow motion and thinking about whether I would make it to my own wedding. It’s crazy how a thousand things run through your head in such a short amount of time. The impact was all on my side and it left me gasping for air as my seat belt held me tight. It ended up leaving a nice little mark on my chest, but it was barely noticeable.
I remember Mr. Sunrise was already out of the car talking to the guy who hit us. The other driver was just 18 and he was pretty shaken up… he kept apologizing. I tried to open my door, but it would not open. I climbed out of the driver’s side and walked around to assess the damage. Twisted metal. I climbed back in the car and thought about the wedding some more. And then I cried because I couldn’t believe what had just happened. We still had a bunch of errands to run and we no longer had a car. I was pretty upset, but I also knew how lucky we were. Except for a few bruises and lots of tears, we walked away unhurt and I’m so thankful that it wasn’t worse.

Although I was pretty stressed out for many of the final weeks before the wedding, I feel like the wedding day was a huge success. Not everything went perfectly like I wanted it to, but we still had such an amazing day surrounded by all of the people that love us most. We smiled and we laughed and I cannot begin to describe the incredible feeling I got when my daddy walked me down the aisle and handed me off to my groom, then stood there and hugged us both tight as I cried in his arms for the last time as his little girl. I’m getting emotional just typing this. Ahh I love you, dad!
Now that the wedding stress has subsided, I can finally show you all the rest of my projects and events that I never got the chance to post about. I am really excited about writing my recaps. I can’t wait to share all of the pictures and the details of our day with you all!
And I know that you guys can’t wait either, so here are a few sneak peeks while we wait for the rest of my pro photos from our amazing photographer.
