About Mrs. Hot Dog

No, really, we do. Or, at least we WILL. I have spent the last year collecting these…

We Drink Our Beer from Mason Jars... : wedding alcohol cheyenne 11 2009

Source

These are not our jars, but you get the idea. The reason I don’t have a photo of ours is that they are scattered in various corners of our garage and spare bedroom. It would be quite an undertaking to gather them all together for a photo. I realize I need to gather them up soon, anyway. But why do today what you can put off until tomorrow? ;)

Anywho, we’ve collected about 200 of them! Each guest will get their own to drink from and to take home (part of the “favors” we came up with to replace the jam). Also, whatever is not used for the guests will be used in our centerpieces!

I think they will go very well with our theme, and who doesn’t love a mason jar?

What have you been collecting for your wedding?

P.S. We plan on selling whatever jars are leftover, so PM me if you’d be interested!

LOVE mason jars!! FMIL just bought a dozen jars for $5 at walmart yesterday! She bought 2 packs. We are doing mason jar centerpieces for our rehearsal dinner with that exact red and white checkered tablecloth - only problem is that we cant find the tablecloth!! I love the idea of drinking anything out of a mason jar! It definitely will go with the look you guys are going for!

Oh, I miss my giant chocolate milk mason jar! I think McGroom slipped it out of the house because he doesn’t like them. Obviously, I love this idea!

That is AWESOME! We used mason jars for our centerpieces, but I didn’t even think of serving beer in them. Would have been an awesome touch! Can’t wait to see how your rustic wedding comes together =)

I love this idea too! We’ve been collecting blue flower vases… mostly at the thrift store. We will have a smaller wedding so I don’t need a ton of them, but now I can’t seem to *quit* finding/purchasing them lol!

I’m doing the same thing- I’ve been collecting and collecting, they are taking up my entire house! Anyhow, question- are you also serving non-alcoholic beverages out of these? If so, how many jars per guest are you planning on?

What a cute idea! I love the doubled up as a favor idea. You should sell the leftovers and anything else you want to sell at shopsavvycinderella.com, a craigslist of sorts for bridal stuff!

Cute! We’re collecting Mason Jars too, which we are putting candles in for the balcony area of our venue, and citrus fruits in for the cocktail hour outdoor area of our venue. We’re also collecting NYC metro cards (we’re NYers), which we are using for place cards, and our tables will be named after NYC subways! Collecting is more fun than I ever expected too.

I’ve also been collecting mason jars, along with my dad and one of my BMs. I don’t even know how many we have since they’re scattered between 3 homes.

Miss Hot Dog-

How are you handling if your guests switch drinks, or are you only serving the beer in jars? I really want to serve our drinks in Mason jars, but worried how we would handle rinsing them out.
