My Best Friend is Engaged

Besides being crazy busy with the fact that we are officially under the 100 day mark, I managed to take a little break thanks to some wonderful news I received last week.

My best friend (MOH Argyle) is engaged!

Her boyfriend (fiance) proposed to her over the 4th of July weekend while on vacation with her family. He had a puzzle made out of a photo of them, and with the last piece missing got down on one knee to ask her. It was super sweet and unique!

This means, that even after Mr. A and I get married this fall, I have another entire year to look forward to of planning and designing and wedding dress shopping! And, it will be nice to not actually have to worry about it all for myself! It’s so exciting to be able to share this with someone so special to me. The only sad part is she lives in Cincinnati, which calls for lots of road trips for this bee! Woot!!

Did any of your good friends get engaged while you were in the midst of your planning? How did it change your planning experience?

My roommate was engaged the same day as me (no kidding- and unplanned!) and my prior roommate was engaged the previous week. It’s been fun sharing in the planning process even though they’re both beating me down the aisle!

My best friend is getting married two months before me, so it has been fun planning, sharing ideas, sometimes even sharing projects, and having someone in general who totally understands what you are going through. I live in TX and she lives in CO and we are both planning destination weddings. It is truly going to be a busy next two months but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

2 of my best friends have gotten engaged since I did and they both decided on spring weddings, so its going to be a crazy 2011 spring!!!!

Awww how exciting. And how awesome for you - that means that when it is over, it isn’t really over for you! …and believe me, planning her wedding will probably be EVEN MORE fun!

How exciting! I want my sister, who hasn’t even proclaimed love for her boyfriend, to get engaged so that we can go dress shopping and other stuff. Crazy bride brain.

So great! My BFF/MOH got engaged 3 months after me and it was so exciting! Her wedding is 9-10 months after mine so I get to help her through everything I’ve just done. Such a special time to share with such a great friend!

Fun! All wedding all the time: that’s what a good friend of mine said when I got engaged (I was in her wedding). It was a lot of wedding talk, for sure, but our visions were quite different, so it didn’t really take away from either event. She’s a mrs. now and I’m excited to join her in a month!

We have been engaged for so long that several of our friends have gotten engaged and married during our engagement. It has been fun to celebrate and sharing planning advice along the way.

How exciting! My MOH got engaged after me and will get married 7 months before me (long engagement for me). I’m so excited because I get to be her MOH and we get to plan things together.
