DIY Bridesmaid Headbands

Bridesmaid gifts were hard for me to brainstorm. Typically you give them a piece of jewelry to wear with their dress, but I’m going for more of a Bohemian look and want the girls to wear what they feel most comfortable in. So now what? Clutches? I’ve never seen any of my girls with one. Bracelets, necklaces, earrings, yada yada yada. I felt like since I’m having an unconventional and DIY wedding, I should do the same for their gifts. So, I made headbands!

I still have quite a few left to make. I plan on giving one to each girl, matching their personality to a pattern. A few aren’t quite up to scratch, so they’ve made it to my own rotation. I wear headbands pretty much everyday. And these are great—not only are they cute, but they’re comfortable and great to workout in. And they’re washable! And reversible! Now I just have to figure out what else to give them along with it. Any suggestions?

Tutorial please?

As for other things, I got my gals Nalgene bottles with personalized skins, a fancy compact, and I’m making clutches. I hope to also make them each a fabric flower. Don’t know if it helps, but maybe it’ll spark an idea.

Mrs. Cookie’s soy candles are fun & easy to make. You can make them out of any coffee mug or glass, and Goodwill has a huge selection.

Agreed Sandy! (that’s your new nickname) I want to learn how to make these…I could guess, but I think a tutorial would be better!

I will also request a tutorial - what a great idea! Those look fabulous!

Other suggestions: maybe zippered makeup bags? Shawls? Tiny photo albums of you + each girl through the years? Fabulous bath products made by you or some local shop?

@Miss Locket: Ha ha ha! Thanks locket, love my new nickname ;) I’ll get a tutorial in the works for everyone! They’re super easy, but if you’ve sewn before, you’ll know that flipping anything inside out is a PITA and it’s particularly hard for these headbands. I’ll have to make up a pdf of my template to post. I’m so excited you all like them and don’t think they’re lame!!

They’re great, and so personal. Depending on what your girls like, you could tie these into a theme (pay for their hair the day of?)

Ummmm, like everyone else, I think we need a DIY explanation. Stat.

Absolutely LOVE these though. Perhaps you should start an Etsy shop! You could totally sell these.
