You Can Ring My Bell-ell, ell

July 15th, 2010 @ 4:49 pm by Mrs. Lobster

Ring my bell.

I had no other funny “ring” titles. Wedding rings! Mr. Lobster and I took a trip up to Connecticut to visit Nagi who made us my e-ring almost exactly a year ago.

Shared prong, u-ternity, fish prong (am I making that up?), channel set, etc. etc. I couldn’t keep up.

I just know I wanted simple, classic, diamond band to match my engagement ring but could also hold its own. Our sales associate Jonathan was really nice and explained it all to me. He said “Do any of them catch your eye?” to which I responded “Yes. All of them. Can I have a few minutes to myself?”

Hello, ladies.

Mr. Lobster surprised me and picked a traditional gold band. He said “We pasty guys gotta go with the warm metals.” Uh, what? He amuses me.

Is this the face of the one?

Does anyone else notice my hairy knuckles? Should I do something about that?

Our rings. In the traditional “ring layer with price tag” pose.

In case you’re wondering, I picked a u-ternity.

Did you and your S.O. have trouble/fun picking out your wedding rings?

It looks like you got a band similar to what I wanted, but didn’t get. So obviously I really like it. We ended up with matching, brushed metal white gold rings. Well, technically, his is titanium.

I love u-ternity rings, I’d be afraid a stone would fall out in an eternity ring but that’s just me.

It was hard and I ended up getting a band that doesn’t match (because there isn’t one and a non-match w/ gap looked funny w/ my e-ring) and will wear the band on my right hand. FI found a stainless steel that he loved so we got it. Due to his job a simple white gold would have not held up well.

FI had my wedding band custom made so it would match my engagement ring and wouldn’t leave gaps. That was a FUN adventure with the jeweler taking 2 months longer than promised to finish it.

I bought his ring on overstock.com. It’s a carbon-inlay band. I think that’s what it’s called. He works at an auto repair place, so I wanted to make sure he had something durable but cheap enough to replace if he accidentally smashed it.

Me and the Mr. got our rings at the Renaissance Fair, 5 months before we were even engaged. We aren’t Renaissance nerds or anything either we just really liked this ring for a long time after we saw it the summer before that!

I can’t see your knuckle hair btw.

soooo much trouble! but once she finally figured out what she wanted, i was suddenly relieved and i knew what i wanted! it was awful until it suddenly wasn’t.

i think this started out as more fun than trying on dresses - way easier to get them on and off!
