~~~
Date: Sunday, May 16, 2010
City, State: Columbia, South Carolina
Budget: $8,000
# of Guests: 150
Wedding Day Costs
Ceremony Site Fees/Type of Venue: $300. Rutledge Chapel is the oldest building on the University of South Carolina Horseshoe. It is classically simple and beautiful with so much character.
Reception Site Fees/Type of Venue: $600. 701 Whaley is a gorgeous refurbished community mill. It is not the site of many fabulous events from art shows, fashion shows and of course wedding receptions!
Caterer/Food/Drink (per person if available): $1,500 ($10 a person) We went for a Southern comfort feel since we are in the South! The menu was amazing and oh-so-delicious. From a fruit tree to drool-worthy pulled pork and a variety of sauces, the food was a hit.
Service Charge/Gratuities: $150 (many were included in previous prices)
Bridal Gown & Alterations: Gown: $350 Alterations: $190
Bridal Accessories (Veil, Undergarments, Shoes, Jewelry): Feather: $2.50, Shoes: $40, Jewelry: Something borrowed
Groom’s Attire: Pants: $59 Vest: $35 Shirt: $50
Stationery/Postage: $50 (My work has a post stamp machine so I got it all at a low price)
Photography: $975. Christina Heaston & Angela Cox were flawless. They stayed the entire day and I felt so at ease knowing they were getting every shot we wanted. When you see the pictures, you wouldn’t believe the price!
Videography: FREE! We have an AMAZING friend who was able to do it for us at no cost. Pretty great huh?
Ceremony Music: Also free. Rutledge Chapel had the hook up and we had a friend of my husbands take care of the set up. It was perfect.
Reception Music: $200. I found my DJ on Craigslist—crazy huh? I was a little apprehensive, but after talking to him several times I knew he was perfect.
Flowers: $200 for all the bouquets, boutonnieres & decor.
Favors: $240 We had a candy bar with enough for people to munch on while at the reception and to take home a goodie bag.
Cupcake Cake: $150
Officiant: Free. Royce is was my husbands youth pastor and great friend growing up. It was so personal and fitting.
Coordinator: My day of coordinators didn’t cost me anything. Lauren, Ally, Laura, are all great friends from our church who did a phenomenal job helping the day along.
Hair/Makeup: Compliments of my wonderful Aunt who is a licensed cosmetologist.
Wedding Party Gifts: $400. My husband and I gave our wedding party Toms shoes. Along with the one-for-one program they offer we were able to donate 20 pairs of shoes to children in need. Check them out at Toms.com.
Hotels: Because the wedding was local hotels weren’t necessary. Family and friends that came in from out of town were able to stay in 2 hotel blocks we set up in the area.
Misc: $100 went to many trips to the antique store for centerpiece holders, window panes, etc. Most of the things in our wedding (if not all) were DIY. I had a blast doing it, but without the help of all my lovely bridesmaids it would not have been possible.
