A few weeks ago, the Starfish Girls and Starfish Mom threw a beautiful shower at the Sherborn Inn in Sherborn, MA. The Starfish Girls and Starfish Mom filled the shower with a lot of my favorite things; friends, family, tea, chocolate, DIY products, and beautiful flowers.
The room was filled with yellow details. Everything from the linens, the candy bar, the cake, the paper products, the flowers, some of the guests attire and even most of the gifts. Yellow just makes me smile, and I couldn’t stop smiling the entire time.
All of the flowers were arranged by Starfish Mom, she also did the flowers at Sister Starfish’s shower. I think she should go into business.

Sister Starfish did all the paper products including invitations, table cards, escort cards, and menu cards. She had a friend help with the calligraphy. She found cute teapot and tea cup stamps on Etsy that I may need to borrow in the future!

Aside from everything being gorgeous, they also included some of my favorite foods. They created a traditional tea menu of scones, finger sandwiches, and delicious desserts, including chocolate mousse cups! I was so busy, I didn’t have a chance to drink a cup of tea.

After taking in all the details, I spent some time with the bridesmaids and Mr. Starfish and got to take some really fun photos. One of the coolest things they did was hire our wedding photographer, David Bibeault, to take photos of the shower! It was a pretty cool surprise. I’m already in love with his work, but after seeing the shower photos, I love his work even more!

Mr. Starfish is a good sport.

The Starfish Girl’s created a faux-to booth, which is quite popular with the Starfish family. We had one at Sister Starfish’s shower, too!

I love the vintage effects Dave created on some of these. It looks like a vintage-y tea party!

I could show a ton more photos, since we did a bit of a photo shoot and there were a ton of fun candid shots, but I’ll get back to details in the next post! But I had to show off this adorable shot of Starfish Flower Girl. She loves talking on the phone and it looks like this phone call was important.

Our photographer has been in the business for quite some time and said shooting a bridal shower was a first for him. I think he did a pretty awesome job!

Between the shower and the engagement party, and every little thing in-between, the Starfish Bridesmaids and Starfish Mom have really gone above and beyond.

So, who are these wonderful girls?

Sister Starfish/MOH, you may recognize her, as I’ve done quite a few posts on her wedding. I couldn’t have asked for a better Maid of Honor.
She’s made the past (almost) two years of planning really special. She knows how much I love details and spent hours making all the paper goods for the shower, even using my favorite crafting technique of embossing.

Bridesmaid M is my cousin, who has been with me through everything. We grew up a street apart and have gone to school together in elementary school through college—and oddly enough went to school for totally different things, but ended up in the same field.

Bridesmaid A, is Brother Starfish’s girlfriend and the mother of our gorgeous flower girl. We met about three years ago, but now I can’t imagine life without her. She’s quickly become a friend and a part of our family.

Bridesmaid C lived across the street from me when we were growing up. We met through our brothers who were best friends. As tomboys who idolized our brothers we became friends fast. We were so close growing up, my grandmother and cousins used to call her the 26th cousin (biologically there are 25).

Bridesmaid E and I have been friends since preschool. Our dads grew up together and since her family moved a couple doors down from my childhood home, we were inesperable growing up. She’s another friend who’s more like family. I spent my summers going to her nanna and pa’s pool and going on her family vacations to Cape Cod. She’s the one who came up with the 100 day challenge!

Bridesmaid L1 and I met at Salve, we were in the same program and had a few classes together, but actually met through Bridesmaid M who was her roommate sophmore year. We actually weren’t friends until after college, but got really close around the time Mr. Starfish proposed. We both share a love of crafting and used to do scrapbook dates. Hopefully we’ll be able to do those again, once we settle into our new homes (she bought one right around the same time as us!).

All photos by our amazing wedding photographer, David Bibeault, unless noted otherwise
Bridesmaid L2 is another childhood friend from the neighborhood—5 out of the 7 lived within blocks of me growing up. We met playing soccer on the purple team. At the time, there was a pretty significant age gap- three years, I think I was 9 and she was 6, but we still ended up becoming close friends.
