Yuppers, you read right. Between the two of us we will have not 2, nor 3, but 4 wedding bands! I know what you are thinking:
And, yes I admit it does sound crazy and that for many it screams frivolity. But, in all honesty it’s not as crazy or as frivolous as you would think. And, in our quirky minds it makes perfect sense to each have two bands. Now here comes the part where I explain myself…
I am a nut for symmetry and hate for things to be off-balance (it must be the Libra in me) and when it came to choosing a band to accompany my e-ring we knew right away that it would look a little odd with only one band. I admit, it doesn’t look terrible with one band, but it doesn’t look as balanced as I would like.

My only real concern is that with the second band it is too much ring action for one finger. When we were picking out bands I was steering towards something a little smaller, like this:
But, Mr. Locket liked the look of the one we went with better… he thought it was silly to spend money on something you wouldn’t notice. And, even though I really do like the larger bands, I can’t help but wonder if it is too much bling for one finger. Right now it’s a little bit hard to tell because of the sizing, I have slight finger “muffin top” and it’s throwing me off in the decision department.
Check out my blingy fing:
And, here they are sans finger:

All in all I do really like them together. I just don’t want to look like a bride that NEEDS DIAMONDS and am worried having so many will change people’s perception of me. Anyhow…let’s talk about the Mr’s rings and why he ended up with two bands.
Months ago we thought we found the perfect band for Mr. Locket… the only trouble was the price tag. Mr. Locket’s dream ring just so happened to be the same ring Kevin Jonas donned on his wedding day. (I know random, right? We saw it on TV one night while watching E! News.)
Since it was highly unlikely we would be able to afford the same ring we went to our jeweler to see what they could do for us. Fortunately, they saw no problem in recreating the ring and told us they would get us an estimate over the next few days. Well… we waited… and waited, and unfortunately the news wasn’t good. It would cost us nearly 7K to have the ring made
. Apparently the majority of the cost is in the setting of all those tiny diamonds. Boom!! We were shot down and our hopes of purchasing his dream ring had vanished. However, we were also given the option of cutting the cost in half if the diamonds were only set around half the band, which apparently was a better option for wear purposes. Despite the 50% cost reduction 3.5K was still far more than what we wanted to pay for his ring. So we kept looking and looking and eventually he was able to find more than one ring that he liked.
So why two bands, you ask? Well, his top pick was stainless steel and with years of wear it will begin to wear and scratch and neither of us really liked this idea. But, we both really liked the ring and the price was right. As for the second band… the second band is tungsten carbide and apparently virtually indestructible. We decided on purchasing both rings so he can wear the tough ring when he is out being a manly man and roughing it up with his hands. In the end we spent a fraction of what his dream ring would have cost and ended up with two rings (more bang for our buck).
And here are all my beauties and his manly rings together:

Did you have trouble find your wedding bands? Do you have more than one band?
