Weekend Warriors

July 20th, 2010 @ 12:03 pm by Mrs. Socks

What a productive weekend!! You’ve already heard about my new dress which I’m SO super excited about, but this past weekend also held quite a bit of productivity!

We found and purchased Mr. Socks’ wedding ring! It was a fairly painless process, and he ended up with this very nice, manly, wonderful piece! It’s 14K white gold and we love it! The sample in the store fit him perfectly and it was cheaper than ordering a ring in, so we got to take it home that same-day! The jeweler also steam-cleaned my e-ring and right hand tanzanite ring—I can’t believe how much more they sparkle with his cleaner than they do with my cleaners!

I couldn’t resist a mini-photo shoot with some fresh produce from our garden and a few succulents we have in the kitchen:

Is it snack time yet? I might have to chomp a few of those tomatoes when I get home…

Another thing we got started on was a DIY project I recently decided on taking on. Remember these little beauties?

Well, I decided that I NEEDED these for all of our guests. My plan is to pin them to little cards with each guests’ name and table number-escort cards, favors, and adorableness all in one! Unfortunately, we could not fit these into our budget to have Emersonmade make them, so I scoured the internet for tutorials. Here’s the result so far of my hard work:

Not as good as Emersonmade, of course, so I’ll still go through her for the bouts for the guys. I’m still trying to figure out the right technique if anyone has any tips!

Tonight, we’re printing out samples of our invite with different papers we like. I’ll let you know how that goes and will soon reveal our invites!

Do you take advantage of your weekends to get wedding stuff done?

Those tomatoes look so good (the rings do too, but it’s almost lunchtime so I’m more interested in the tomatoes right now!). I am also a weekend warrior and definitely get a lot done then.

Wow! :) Good job on the veggies, by the way…

I love the rings, they look so great together.

Work on, weekend warrior.

What a great idea for the escort cards! I hadn’t figured out what we will do for ours yet, but fabric flowers are making there way into my wedding so who knows where else I can put them!

oh also I love Mr. Socks band…where did you find it? Mr. Locket is still trying to look for another band (even though he already has the 2 and has ordered a 3rd he is now unsure of)

Where did you find the groom’s band?! That is exactly the ring my fiance has been looking for, and we would love some direction as another Philly area couple!
