Mrs. Cardigan, Austin Age and Occupation: 21, Student/Soon-to-be Special Education Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 20, Student/Soon-to-be Accounting Systems Analyst Engagement Date: August 16, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Vintage Villas About Me: I'm a native Austinite who was raised as a die-hard Aggie. Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!

Dressing Up Our Cupcakes

July 21st, 2010 @ 2:44 pm by Mrs. Cardigan

If you remember, when I first talked about our cupcakes, I mentioned that Sister Cardy and I plan to make wrappers for them to spruce ‘em up a bit. She has been making some mock-ups for me on her Cricut, and I got them in the mail the other day and I couldn’t wait to share them with you!

When I first opened the package, I found an adorable little card:

I opened it, and it was a “Congrats on becoming a bee” card! (Side note: Mr. Cardigan, THIS is why I need a Cricut!!! Look how cute!)

After I finished admiring the adorable card, it was onto the cupcake wrappers! Please ignore the fact that some of them are green – we’ll be finding some cute yellow paper to make these with once it’s actually time to make them!

1:

(Also, please ignore the disgusting windows. Ranger likes to lick them, hence the slobber marks.)

And then, the same three, but with patterned paper. (One of them I couldn’t get to work, so this is only two of them)

I thought that I would like the patterned paper best, but once I saw it in person, I thought it looked a little too busy – I definitely think that I prefer the plain paper. And Sister Cardy, Mr. Cardigan and I are all unanimous that #6 is our absolute favorite. Beyond that, I’m clueless! I know that I want to pick two (or three?) different wrappers so that we can mix them up a bit, but I just can’t decide which one(s) to choose!

That’s where you come in.

Which one is your favorite?

And then, should we pick two or three? Or four? Or all seven? :-)

So cute! I also love #6, so I’m not too helpful. Your sister is so talented!

They are so awesome!!! I think you need to use them all! BUT if you don’t want to mix and match so much, choose 1 and ANY one of them will do. I can’t choose!

Oh my gosh! So effin cute! I love them. #3 was my favorite, but I totally think you should mix up 3-4 designs. Not so sure about the patterned paper, it’s too busy with the cutout that you can’t see those fabulous designs. But if you love it, go for it! Kudos! Now to break out my cricut…

I want a Circut too! McGroom says no, but I’ll get one anyway.

back to the point, I like 3, but I think you could do several and it would look awesome.

I adore them all, but I really like the simplicity of #1 and #3. Of course you could do what some girls have already suggested and just mix and match them. They’ll be awesome either way.

They’re adorable! #6, for sure. Also, I got a NEW Cricut w/ a new cartridge from eBay, and it only cost us $78 with shipping! It was a lot of bidding, though…

I would say go with #6 with plain paper. Though if you are having more than one flavor of cupcake you could have coordinating flavors and wrappers.

These are soooo cute! I like #6 the best, but like others have mentioned…mix & match. I have a Cricut. Do you think your sister will provide a tutorial?
