Paper: Putting It All Together

July 21st, 2010 @ 11:12 am by Mrs. Argyle

I’ve had our invitations back from the printer since before the July 4th holiday. And, let me tell you, I swear they’ve been staring at me the entire time. I had them printed pretty quickly, so we were just waiting on our map to finish printing and for our envelopes to finish being calligraphed. The second those last two pieces arrived, I immediately started assembling them. I had a goal to get them out by the third full week in July, and I was doing everything possible to make it happen (side note: So, it is the third week, and they have yet to go out. We’re aiming for a Thursday drop).

Me assembling invites (Not quite the fan of this one, but Mr. A insists it shows “personality”. I’m not sure I agree).

Our gorgeous envelopes from Penned and Pretty! We chose a chocolate brown outer envelope, and Jessica used a white ink pen to calligraph the addresses.

Halfway through stuffing! You’ll see we opted for a light tan inner envelope. Jessica used a chocolate brown pen for the names on them.

Is that a monogram I see?

Did you get your invitations out early or late? What held you up?

That calligraphy is gorgeous! Our invitations were going to go out earlier…until we found out that they needed to be reprinted. I am hoping we will still be on time. Fingers crossed!

We just dropped our invitations in the mail this morning! SUCH a good feeling! And in case you’re having any trouble getting your envelopes to close, I have two words: GLUE STICKS! They saved our sanity.

I’m right there with you Miss Argyle! I also have a September wedding and my invites just went out yesterday. I ordered different parts of my invites from so many different places, it took longer than I expected to get them all. That and we had pocket invites with ribbon and embellishments that I insisted on DIY. I should have known better.

Can’t wait to see your invites and I’m loving your color scheme!

Love those envelopes! We got ours late. I wanted to get them out the week of the 4th and they just were dropped in the mail yesterday! Oops. I had to print all mine, cut them, round corners, tie up with baker’s twine and I’m SO HAPPY THEY HAVE LEFT OUR HOUSE. I love them but the invites have been on my mind for so long it’s nice to have them gone.

We were able to get ours out the exact time that I wanted to. We ended up mailing ours most of ours three months in advance. This way it gave our guests 2 months to RSVP and a month for us to do our thing. So far we have heard from about 40%!

@jordynrose: I have my fingers crossed for you!

@hilsy85: Good thinking - we used one of those sponge things.

@misschristinec@hotmail.com, @Mrs. Buttons: Soon, I promise!

Ooo! Those look cute already!

Our invitations went out early- I ordered them off Etsy and the seller took care of almost everything, my mom finished them off. The only thing we did was make wrap around labels which were a pain in the ass but only took a weekend.

Our invitations were definitely out late…
Partly because my parents are printers which has created a rather paper obsessed daughter that had very specific wants for the invitation. And partly because of the sheer number of steps to actually assemble them once all the printing was done. 20 individual steps per invitation, 200 invitations and doing them alone while my fiance was away…make for a rather lengthy process.
On the up side, they are now on their way to our guests and I absolutely LOVE them. Though mildly biased, I have never seen more beautiful invitations. :o)

Love the colors and the monogram!

My inability to work on my early enough and realize making 150 would take forever = me getting them out just under 2 mo instead of the 3 mo mark like I wanted. =)
