I was so so happy (and a little nervous) that my friend asked us (her bridesmaids) to find our own dresses.
She didn’t lay out any parameters except for color. So, I called after my favorite dress, asked if the right color was available and moved forward. About a month after I ordered the dress, I went down to a studio in Midtown West to pick my dress up.
Did you guess correctly? Here I am with Carol Hannah, so excited to be picking up my dress.
You may recognize Carol Hannah from last season’s Project Runway - she has many beautiful dresses for brides and bridesmaids which you can see here.
I couldn’t wait to try it on when I got home! What do you think? OOH I LOVE IT! I will definitely be wearing this dress again (take that, bridesmaid-dress-cliches!)

Believe it or not, I’ve never been a bridesmaid! It seems fun to pick out your own dress, you’ve got a really chill bride friend.
I got to pick out my own dress for an upcoming wedding, but it had to be from a certain collection which limited it a bit. I picked the cheapest dress because I really didn’t like any of them. It was nice of her to offer to let us pick our own dresses, but it kind of backfired because no one liked the options. I hate thats I’ll be at the wedding and people will know I chose my own dress and might think, “wow she picked THAT one”
Oh yay! Gorgeous dress and I just love Carol Hannah - I was lucky enough to have her as my bridal consultant during my dress hunting process.
