Mrs. Cardigan's Picture
Mrs. Cardigan, Austin Age and Occupation: 21, Student/Soon-to-be Special Education Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 20, Student/Soon-to-be Accounting Systems Analyst Engagement Date: August 16, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Vintage Villas About Me: I'm a native Austinite who was raised as a die-hard Aggie. Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!
About Mrs. Cardigan

My Fingers Are Sore.

July 28th, 2010 @ 10:33 am by Mrs. Cardigan

Folding over 1,000 petals for your stupid aisle decor will do that to you. I’ve talked before about my evil kusudama balls and how the are the bane of my existence, but guess what?

I’m done folding them! I just finished folding the last of my 20 balls, and they’re ready to go. And if I never see another 4×4 square of paper in my life, I would be okay with that. I even had a little chat with Ranger to see how he feels about the kusudama balls…

… yeah, I think we’re on the same page.

I was extremely excited about this accomplishment and feeling really proud of myself. I mean, that’s a ton of petals I just finished folding! And I’m done now!

Oh, wait. No, I’m not. Those 1,000 petals I just folded? Now I get to glue them together. Then take those and glue them into flowers. Then take the flowers and glue them into balls.

I swear, this is the crafting project that just won’t end!

Did you have any crafting projects that just seemed to go on forever?

Although I love the meaning and symbolism behind the 1,000 paper cranes, I really think I might hate them after we are done.

Cute dog! :D

OMG Cardigan youre ridiculous!!! Im at work so I wasnt able to watch your video but I cant wait to do so later!! I am DIYing my paddle fan programs and they are the biggest PIA EVER!! There are so many different steps to create one program that I get sick of doing them after just a few! I am trying to do a few per day as I only 3.5 weeks left to get these done! At least you are getting a really good head start!!

kusudama balls - they are evil, yet pretty and hard to resist. We’re done with them and I’m so happy about it. Good Luck!

At least Ranger agrees with you. haha, too cute. I thought for a very brief second that I would want to make these as escort cards, then I got scared. Way to be brave and tackle the project, it will definitely pay off!

ummm yeah def had those projects that left me sore and aching! The most recent were the invites. I spent so much time cutting, rounding, punching, sealing, addressing and assembling I think my head almost exploded!

Good for you! I am glad I did not undertake any major projects like this (okay there WAS the Oreo truffle debacle) for our wedding b/c I simply do not have the patience. Btw, Ranger is adorable.
