Moo Cards

July 29th, 2010 @ 9:44 am by Mrs. Thimble

Since discovering Weddingbee, I’ve heard a lot about little prints called Moo Cards. More specifically, Moo’s MiniCards. Bees have used Moo cards as escort cards, photo website cards, trivia game cards, bitty photo inserts, or info inserts in their save the dates! (Okay, just run a search on Weddingbee for Moo Cards and you’ll get all these posts and MORE.)

It was that last linked post—to Mrs. Pin Cushion’s save the dates—that made me want to scream, “What aaare Moo cards and why do feel like I have to have them?!?!??” I saw a couple of these little bitty pretties in person over brunch shortly after becoming a blogging bee, and I immediately schemed a way to fit them into our wedding. They are cute, quality, and they scream for your attention. Many of our guests overlooked our website on our save the dates, so why not grab their attention in our invitation suite?

I ordered these little minis last night. We chose the first option with the right-justified wording. And Oh! Goodness, this must be a teeny very sneak-peek of our engagement pictures! More soon… just as soon as I have the disc.

Have you caved to random Weddingbee-induced obsessions? And do you have some more creative uses for Moo cards to share?

Those are cute! We just printed our website on slips of paper and stuck ‘em in. Ahh, the slacker life. I like yours better though!

Oh, how cute! Our guests totally overlooked our website, too. I’ve had TWO members of my bridal party ask me questions like, “Are you registered anywhere?” or “Wait, there’s a ROOM BLOCK?!”

Weddingbee got me to succumb to envelope liners, even though I’m sure I’m the only one who’ll notice. My mom tried to convince me they’re a waste of time, but NO DICE, MA, I LIKE ‘EM! ;)

How oh HOW did you get the hearts in the text? It will NOT let me use Alt 3 (the heart shows up in the text block but not on the preview!) HELP!

@smiths14: I use a mac so I had to google “how to type a heart on mac” and it gave me a mac shortcut to insert symbols from a character menu. Is there a PC version of a character/symbol menu?

Thanks. I ended up just having to upload my own artwork. How are you incorporating them with your invites? Are you just packaging them up with the invitation suite somehow? I’m using a bellyband to “tie” mine together and I don’t know what the best way would be to include these…

We are using Moo cards as our favor tags! I am using our engagement shots and tying them to the favor boxes with raffia ribbon, picture side up. I had toyed with the idea of punching holes in the corner and looping the ribbon through, but the card is almost the same size as the box, so it works.

@smiths14: I’m tying mine on with bakers twine… another trendy item I couldn’t resist.

I decided to use moo cards as our “donation cards”. Thinking of putting a cute photo on the front and then listing the charity we’re donating to on the back
