Mrs. Locket, Ithaca, NYAge and Occupation: 25, Research TechnicianFiance's Age and Occupation: 28, former Banker hoping to become an Officer of the LawEngagement Date: June 15, 2009Wedding Date: September 2010Venue: Heron Hill WineryAbout Me: I am a little bit of everything all rolled into one: A girly gal with rough edges---I love to get dolled up just as much as I enjoy throwing on some sneaks to toss a ball with Mr. Locket. My love for crafting and creating is quite apparent and I've been referred to as a Wonder Woman/Martha Stewart/Stepford Wife hybrid (yup, I'll take that as a compliment). I adore sewing, photography, sculpture, good eats (mmm tapas), baking, snugging and oh, pretty much everything in between (there's not much I dislike). I am super excited to be planning our vineyard wedding and couldn't be happier to be marrying Mr. Locket. We are a quirky, fun-loving couple residing in our college town with our two pups Maple and Molly. We love to go on hikes, visit our local dog park and to bask in the beauty of many of the local falls and gorges. We are an indecisive pair, but together we somehow manage to make up our minds (it's the easy stuff that's tricky).
And, yes I admit it does sound crazy and that for many it screams frivolity. But, in all honesty it’s not as crazy or as frivolous as you would think. And, in our quirky minds it makes perfect sense to each have two bands. Now here comes the part where I explain myself… Read more…

I heart cooking, sewing, baking, decorating and making sure we have a hand-crafted home. The best part about the wedding is I get to incorporate it all! I make sure I put my art degree to good use by screen printing, craft knife cutting, and a whole lotta graphic design. We're having a big-time party on a small-time budget, and I promise to show you a boot-scootin', barbecue-eatin', finger-lickin' good time! Mr. Sand Dollar and I spend most of our time on DIY projects or traipsing around the outdoors with our two pooches Rory and Juno. I'm looking forward to sharing our journey with all of you!
There are times in a girl’s life when she just needs to break out her glue gun. Tonight was one of those times. Whenever I have long stretches stuck at my computer coding websites, I crave crafting. I get the itch, and if I don’t scratch it I go crazy. So, I decided the time was right to start the cake topper. And I think it actually turned out pretty darn cute! Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. As we all know, I’m a planner. I like to get stuff done, and I don’t like sitting around doing nothing. So, when I came to a lull in our wedding planning, my mind started wandering to other things I could take care of. FMIL Cardy has graciously offered to foot the bill for the rehearsal dinner, and she had been asking us about how much it would cost. I figured, what better time to take care of the rehearsal dinner location than now?
My immediate first thought was my one of my favorite restaurants in the world (second only to Melting Pot), Chuy’s. They have the best margaritas I’ve ever tasted, a really fun atmosphere, and food that will make you weak in the knees.

Miss Husky, Denver Age & Occupation: 26, Systems Administrator Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 32, Mechanical Engineer, recently laid off Engagement Date: August 14, 2009 Wedding Date: October 2010 Venue: Rancho San Carlos About Me: I am planning a quirky-crafty wedding with my recently out-of-work fiancé for a (fingers crossed!) warm October afternoon. We are two self-professed nerds with an affinity for all things outdoors—be it rain, snow or shine. Recently relocated from the drizzly Northwest, we’re enjoying the many sun-soaked days in the mile high city. Our day will be filled with both of our large families and friends, a self-served Cajun feast, and a Zydeco-style jazz band rocking beneath the beams of a historic red barn.

I think every day should include good thin crust pizza, chocolate, an obscure historical monument, lots of laughter, a dash of wedding planning and, of course, amazing Mr. Pencils! I'm loving the adventure of planning a Maryland wedding and Rocky Mountain reception, and most of all, I just love love!
Ahaha, get it?!?! The Pencils NUMBER TWO reception? Like a number two pencil?!?! Ahaha!
Hokay, so. Remember a really long time ago I told you all about our plans to have a second wedding reception in my hometown in Idaho?! No? That’s a’ight! This past weekend, though, it happened—we gathered with fifty of (mostly my) friends and family to celebrate Mr. Pencils’ and my May nuptials with some kegs, some BBQ, and delicious sheet cake. It was friggin’ fantastic.
Mr. P and I began the trip with, what else, multiple layovers. The best of which occurred in Memphis, where we sampled some original Southern barbecue. I promptly declared myself vegetarian on Wednesday and ate pork ribs on Thursday. I’m still trying…

The soon-to-be hubs plays "Mr. Fix-It" in our new condo while I swoon over beautiful, personalized stationery and choose shades of aubergine for my bridesmaids' dresses... and thus begins my new fairy tale! Skirting to the East Coast for our September nuptials where my home state of Rhode Island awaits with fall foliage, I'm just a few dress fittings and bachelorette party away from saying "I Do" to a very happy ending!
Mrs. Hamster, New York CityAge and Occupation: 28, Finance GalFiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Finance GuyEngagement Date: March 9, 2009Wedding Date: May 2010Venue: The Pierre HotelAbout Me: I'm an original Jersey girl living it up in the big NYC! I love baking for others, hosting brunches, and exploring NYC with my mans. Besides Mr. Hamster (of course), I'm attracted to shiny things, bold colors, snacks, matching and coordination, pork and duck fats, miniature versions of things, corny jokes and puns. We are planning a swanky Spring wedding in the heart of NYC, followed by a second reception in Singapore. From one city that never sleeps to another - I can't imagine a more exciting ride!
Mrs. Taco, San FranciscoAge and Occupation: 29, writer/editorFiance's Age and Occupation: 37, editorEngagement Date: May 13, 2009Wedding Date: August 2010Venue: The Green Room at the War Memorial Veterans BuildingAbout Me: I like laughing and talking with good friends over good food and good drink, be it wine, cocktail, or brew. I write and edit things for fun and profit, but I rarely "write" these days without a keyboard and high-speed internets. Favorites include Mr. Taco, my Boston terrier, San Francisco, getting out of town, and the Roaring ’20s. I was kind-of planning a wedding since roughly 2006, when I discovered "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?" on the WE channel. I ran and didn't look back with a theme I called "urban vintage," and it culminated in the most magical day a taco could ask for.
Aside from asking about whether our planning is done (pretty much) or if I’m excited (yep!) people ask me most often these days about whether I’m mega-stressed. Everyone seems to know and accept that it’s part of the game. True, there are lots of balls (HAHA I’m 12, too) to keep in the air, and most of us don’t do this professionally. We have a lot of other things going on in our respective lives, and we don’t want planning to interfere with living.
But I’ve decided that the root of stress for control freaks detail-oriented planners like ourselves is simply being unable to let go.
For example, I made a draft day-of, hour-by-hour schedule for our bridal party and vendors. I’ll send this out the week of the wedding, and I’m sure everyone will read it and get what they need to do. Even if they don’t, I’m sure they can fake it and I’ll be none the wiser. But once the schedule leaves my hands, I give up control of the timeline. This comes with plenty of “what if” worries, and an overwhelming desire to ask people, a la kindergarten, if they understood the schedule. Vendors will surely get confirmation phone calls in the days prior, but our bridal party comprises, well, friends. So, I’m trying to remind myself that just letting it go is probably the best thing for everyone. Read more…

Mr. Lobster and I met in grad school and have been together ever since. I'm clueless about DIY but am an avid online shopper and love all things polka dots, stripes, and ruffles! When I'm not making wedding lists, you can find me looking for snacks, watching Gilmore Girls, or hanging out with Mr. Lobster and our new puppy Buddy! We are planning a fancy-pantsy Brooklyn wedding for a hot New York summer night which is sure to be a misadventure in the making.
I had no other funny “ring” titles. Wedding rings! Mr. Lobster and I took a trip up to Connecticut to visit Nagi who made us my e-ring almost exactly a year ago.
Shared prong, u-ternity, fish prong (am I making that up?), channel set, etc. etc. I couldn’t keep up.

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 19, Photography StudentEngagement Date: February 14, 2010Wedding Date: January 2011Venue: Gardens of the WorldAbout Me: I'm a girl from down under who grew up in Indonesia and I'm marrying a California boy. I'm addicted to all things sweet, have never met a chocolate silk pie than can get the better of me, and have dreams of one day being a fulltime novelist. I go weak in the knees for lace, tea cups, and a beautifully crafted sentence. When I get excited about something (whether it is historical linguistics or the Beatles) I tend to go overboard in research, and planning this wedding is no different. Mr. Earrings is my high school sweetheart, my best friend, and somehow we combine all our quirks into one big happy mess.
Glad rags: formal or dressy clothes for a special occasion. As in, the BM dresses. I’m not sure if this is NZ specific slang or not (any Americans still use it?) but my mother always says it, so there you go.
When it came to figuring out what my bridesmaids would wear, I was a bit all over the place. I want them to feel pretty, I want them to be able to wear the dresses again (or at least delude myself into thinking they can wear them again), the dresses need to be appropriate for a not-so-formal but still elegant and English-y picnic wedding, AND they have to be $100 NZD or under (eek!). Oh yeah, and if the colour falls somewhere in the purple range that would be awesome.
During my search, I saved pictures of favourite outfits will-nilly and then when I got sick of inspiration and was ready to sort through it all I divided the dresses into two categories: The Stunning Impossibles, and the Gorgeous Possibles.
First, my Stunning Impossible beauties: Read more…

I speak Italian and love pasta. My real passion is the outdoors, though. When I'm not at work, I'm snowboarding, hiking with my two dogs, mountain biking, surfing, cross-country-skiing, or boating New Mexico's rivers. Despite my boyish love for adventure, I'm a girly-girl at heart and am overly-excited to pull off the romantic, vintage-inspired, country wedding of my dreams.
Well, hive, I think I’ve finally written my final posts on Weddingbee. My recaps are finished and I think you can officially call me “an old bee”, with respect to those who have blogged before me.
But, I’d never sign off without keeping my word. And my word is that I promised you the portrait that Mr. CB was painting of me in my wedding dress. Note: It’s a wee bit sexy, kind of like our version of a boudoir shoot.
To give you a sense of how large this painting is, here’s a shot of Mr. CB’s studio (see that tiny bottle of soda on that miniature-looking table?): Read more…

Wedding Date: October 2010Venue: Ladder 15 RestaurantAbout Me: I am originally from the Midwest, but I love being an East Coast transplant! Mr. Socks and I are foodies and winos to the core---give us a hunk of cheese, some charcuterie and a glass of wine and we could die happy. We have two mischievous Wire Fox Terriers with completely opposite personalities but with a shared love of uprooting anything in our garden. Our backyard garden includes everything from tomatoes and peppers to a fig tree, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries! I love cooking, indie music, and spending time in our wedding city of choice---Philly!
Mr. Socks and I go out pretty often—we’re in Philly a few times a week, we love trying new restaurants and activities, and it just seems like we never have time to get bored since we run around so much. As much as we get out of the house though, there’s just something about making time for those special nights. You know, the nights out that you look forward to all week long and think about the next day? The kind of night that holds a special place in your heart and your relationship may not be the same without it?

Last week I drove Bestie C up to Greenville for a doctor’s appointment, and decided to stop in at Providence Place and pick up my short reception dress for the wedding. Of course, once I saw it I couldn’t resist trying it on. And then my heart stopped.
Mrs. Veggie, Raglan, New Zealand/Scranton, PAAge and Occupation: 27, Director of Small Non-ProfitFiance's Age and Occupation: 42, PhD Student & FarmerEngagement Date: June 13, 2009Wedding Date: August 2010Venue: Indian Head Camp, Honesdale Pennsylvania
About Me: I am a tree-huggin' farmer turned enthusiastic wedding-planner. I live in a house truck and wear flip-flops more often than shoes. In my old life I was a high school Spanish teacher in love with a crazy guy who lived off-the grid on a farm in New Hampshire. But, we decided to mix things up a bit, quit our jobs and move to New Zealand. My southern hemisphere lifestyle involves growing veggies, teaching, running our small non-profit, and surfing. I love laughing, singing, playing, and the inspirational Mr. Veggie (of course!). For our wedding, I am committed to throwing a killer party that celebrates our values without breaking the bank. Look forward to an eco-thrifty summer-campy weekend-long extravaganza.
Our camp wedding is going to involve lots of fun and games and a fair bit of friendly family competition. While my side might have the advantage in sheer numbers, Mr. Veggie’s side has quite a few good athletes, so it’s looking to be a good match-up. We have several events planned for the weekend. The morning of our rehearsal dinner the camp is going to set up a multi-event relay for our immediate families and bridal party involving silly stunts and heroic athletic feats. At the rehearsal dinner itself we are having a chili cook-off and microbrew competition. A few rounds of flip cup and frisbeer might also find their way into the evening. But the main event (besides our wedding) will be the bride v. groom softball game, to take place at 10AM the morning of the wedding. Yes, people will have to choose sides. For some it will be an easy choice. For others, it will be heart wrenching.
Question: How will we know what side they chose? How will I know who to heckle (and possibly sabotage) and who to cheer on?

I have a problem. I’m obsessed with origami, and I can’t stop. Really, I love all paper-related crafts in general. Every time I see another paper project, my mind immediately starts coming up with ways I can use it in the wedding.
Can the theme of a wedding be “paper”?
Anyways, I was on one of my favorite blogs the other day, Young House Love, and I saw this cute little craft:
