Mrs. Locket, Ithaca, NY
Age and Occupation: 25, Research Technician
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, former Banker hoping to become an Officer of the Law
Engagement Date: June 15, 2009
Wedding Date: September 2010
Venue: Heron Hill Winery
About Me: I am a little bit of everything all rolled into one: A girly gal with rough edges---I love to get dolled up just as much as I enjoy throwing on some sneaks to toss a ball with Mr. Locket. My love for crafting and creating is quite apparent and I've been referred to as a Wonder Woman/Martha Stewart/Stepford Wife hybrid (yup, I'll take that as a compliment). I adore sewing, photography, sculpture, good eats (mmm tapas), baking, snugging and oh, pretty much everything in between (there's not much I dislike). I am super excited to be planning our vineyard wedding and couldn't be happier to be marrying Mr. Locket. We are a quirky, fun-loving couple residing in our college town with our two pups Maple and Molly. We love to go on hikes, visit our local dog park and to bask in the beauty of many of the local falls and gorges. We are an indecisive pair, but together we somehow manage to make up our minds (it's the easy stuff that's tricky).
… I can’t help but wish I had partaken in more dress shopping excursions before I found “the one”.
I know it may seem crazy to some brides… brides that are overwhelmed by the hours spent pulling jeweled encrusted piles of taffeta and satin over their heads. But, for me it was something I built up in my head as this uber-tastic experience. One where I would be with all my besties and both my Mom and future Mother in Law. We would laugh and giggle at the overly puffy princess dresses and ooh and ahh over the ones that looked great.

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 22, Electrical Technician
Engagement Date: January 8, 2010
Wedding Date: September 2010
Venue: MacLean Park
About Me: I'm a domestic diva down to the core. I heart cooking, sewing, baking, decorating and making sure we have a hand-crafted home. The best part about the wedding is I get to incorporate it all! I make sure I put my art degree to good use by screen printing, craft knife cutting, and a whole lotta graphic design. We're having a big-time party on a small-time budget, and I promise to show you a boot-scootin', barbecue-eatin', finger-lickin' good time! Mr. Sand Dollar and I spend most of our time on DIY projects or traipsing around the outdoors with our two pooches Rory and Juno. I'm looking forward to sharing our journey with all of you!

Is this hanger not the most adorable piece of wardrobe function you’ve ever seen? I stumbled upon LilaFrances’ Etsy shop and couldn’t believe my eyes.

Mrs. Taffy, Ann Arbor
Age and Occupation: 28, Color and Materials Designer
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Automotive Designer
Engagement Date: May 9, 2008
Wedding Date: May 2009
Blogging Since: September 14, 2008
Venue: University of Michigan Union
About Me: I’m a girl who is crazy about Mr. Taffy, sewing, dancing, almost all types of sweets, and our cute pet canaries. I dislike touching fuzzy fabric of any kind, eating somewhat squishy food, and Michigan winters. Mr. Taffy and I are having a blast planning our Ann Arbor wedding, and cannot wait to share our day with friends and family.
On our fifth day in Paris, Mr. Taffy and I braved the Louvre, one of the largest and most famous museums in the world. Although very excited, we were already quite intimidated by the museum before we arrived (the guidebooks we read while planning made it seem impossible to get through). Seeing the incredibly massive building in person didn’t make us any less nervous! Because of this, we blocked two days to get through the museum.

We arrived just before the doors opened, full of anticipation.

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Pilot
Engagement Date: February 15, 2009
Wedding Date: September 2010
Venue: Jewel Box in Forest Park and Windows on Washington
About Me: I'm a true Midwestern girl (born and raised), lover of red wine, reality TV and the entire J.Crew catalog. I love to dance regardless of who is watching, and enjoy a good laugh with my girls. I have a soft spot in my heart for planet Earth, my two dogs and my fiance. Fall is my favorite season (which is why we are marrying in September), but I love a warm summer day and the Colorado mountains in the winter. We are planning a modern soiree downtown, with lots of bold colors, and fun, eco-friendly elements.
Besides being crazy busy with the fact that we are officially under the 100 day mark, I managed to take a little break thanks to some wonderful news I received last week.
My best friend (MOH Argyle) is engaged!

Mrs. Cardigan, Austin
Age and Occupation: 21, Student/Soon-to-be Special Education Teacher
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 20, Student/Soon-to-be Accounting Systems Analyst
Engagement Date: August 16, 2009
Wedding Date: January 2011
Venue: Vintage Villas
About Me: I'm a native Austinite who was raised as a die-hard Aggie. Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!
Or, as I like to call it: EGLP. We’ve all heard of it. You have a guest list set and you’re just trucking along in your planning, happy to finally have a set number of people and not have to worry any more about who you will or will not be inviting.
Then, you get ready to send out your STDs (or invites, whatever), and someone goes “Oh! So-and-so isn’t on the guest list? They have to be invited.” and then someone else goes “Oh my goodness, I can’t believe we forgot so-and-so. We have to add them, plus their three kids and their kids’ neighbors, and their best friend’s hairdresser.”
Okay, so maybe it’s not that ridiculous, but you get my point. Our guest list seems to have gone from this:

Mrs. Earrings, Fresno, CA/ Nelson, New Zealand
Age and Occupation: 20, Student, Wannabe Writer
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 19, Photography Student
Engagement Date: February 14, 2010
Wedding Date: January 2011
Venue: Gardens of the World
About Me: I'm a girl from down under who grew up in Indonesia and I'm marrying a California boy. I'm addicted to all things sweet, have never met a chocolate silk pie than can get the better of me, and have dreams of one day being a fulltime novelist. I go weak in the knees for lace, tea cups, and a beautifully crafted sentence. When I get excited about something (whether it is historical linguistics or the Beatles) I tend to go overboard in research, and planning this wedding is no different. Mr. Earrings is my high school sweetheart, my best friend, and somehow we combine all our quirks into one big happy mess.
To continue with my lavender infused train of thought, I think now is a good time to give you the promised lavender heart sachet tutorial. I am making (and have almost finished!) thirty of these for our wedding, to complete the picnic tablescapes, and to just add here and there at the reception site (because I can).

I got the idea from an old Australian Better Homes and Gardens magazine originally. The first time I actually started making these hearts was back when I was a teenager, when I sold them to fundraise for various causes. So, if a slightly ditsy thirteen year old can make these, I’m sure most people can handle them.

Mrs. Hamster, New York City
Age and Occupation: 28, Finance Gal
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Finance Guy
Engagement Date: March 9, 2009
Wedding Date: May 2010
Venue: The Pierre Hotel
About Me: I'm an original Jersey girl living it up in the big NYC! I love baking for others, hosting brunches, and exploring NYC with my mans. Besides Mr. Hamster (of course), I'm attracted to shiny things, bold colors, snacks, matching and coordination, pork and duck fats, miniature versions of things, corny jokes and puns. We are planning a swanky Spring wedding in the heart of NYC, followed by a second reception in Singapore. From one city that never sleeps to another - I can't imagine a more exciting ride!
Roll out the white carpet, the Hammies are coming!

To set the mood, let me introduce you to our prelude music. Just push play, you won’t regret it! And no, I didn’t choose this music because it’s from a Brad Pitt movie. I chose it because it’s from an Anthony Hopkins movie. Just kidding! (I chose it because it’s from a Brad Pitt movie):

Engagement Date: February 8, 2009
Wedding Date: July 2010
Venue: Amy's Manor
About Me: I'm an opinionated Midwestern girl now living in the Valley of the Sun marrying a laid back Northwestern guy. I'm equal parts sass, silly and sweet. I'm fiercely loyal with a strong devotion to my family and friends. I have a not-so-secret obsession with apple juice, a new obsession with DIY projects and I love a really good cheese plate...with lots of wine. After 7 blissful years of dating, I'm having the time of my life planning the destination wedding of my dreams to my Mr. Frog-turned-Prince Charming.
We don’t have a lot of kids coming to the wedding but it was important to us to recognize our pint-sized family members in at least a small way.
A while back I came across a posting on Martha Stewart Weddings where they had created a version of I Spy as a conversation starter for a wedding. I just loved the idea so I decided to create my own version for the kids.

Mrs. Pashmina, NYC/Catalina Island, CA
Age and Occupation: 28, Arts Education
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 34, IT Administrator
Engagement Date: April 26th, 2009
Wedding Date: July 2010
Venue: Catalina Country Club, Catalina Island, California
About Me: I'm a laid-back Cali girl who moved to NYC for school, and ended up staying for love. My fiance is a quick-witted Jersey boy, a self-proclaimed Foodie and the funniest man I've ever met. Together we love exploring the city streets embarking on our next misadventure---and yes, this often involves eating off food carts and trying "the next big thing". I'm the girl in the sundress, snapping photos and collecting trinkets of memorabilia along the way. As a girly girl at heart, I am excited about our romantic natural island wedding incorporating our American & Filipino traditions.
I love this cottage seaside decor from Pacific Weddings––it really gets me thinking about the beach! Catalina IS on an island after all!
I am moving on to thinking about more than just the wedding reception decor, which means two things: Friday’s rehearsal dinner and Sunday’s brunch. For both I would like to have a little bit of beach vibe incorporated. Something people would imagine for an island wedding, since our reception isn’t beachy at all!

One thing that Mr. Locket really needed to adjust to when we first start dating was my family. You see, the thing is I don’t have a small family… in fact, my (immediate) family is considered to be quite large under most standards. I am second in line of six children and Mr. Locket is an only child. Becoming a part of my family has been a huge transition for him.

Bridesmaid gifts were hard for me to brainstorm. Typically you give them a piece of jewelry to wear with their dress, but I’m going for more of a Bohemian look and want the girls to wear what they feel most comfortable in. So now what? Clutches? I’ve never seen any of my girls with one. Bracelets, necklaces, earrings, yada yada yada. I felt like since I’m having an unconventional and DIY wedding, I should do the same for their gifts. So, I made headbands!
