A week before we left for the wedding, I finished the seating guide. I wanted to incorporate the fabric flowers I made—that had been languishing—and more stripeyness. I found this inspiration from Emersonmade and got to work:
I bought striped fabric and a bulletin board from IKEA. Then I simply stapled the fabric to the board in mock upholstery fashion.
Then I printed out all of the guest names and table numbers on sheets of cardstock and cut them out into flag shapes. At this point, I hot glued the guest names to the back of the fabric flowers. Next, I agonized over the seating arrangement for about four days. Once I felt somewhat confident, I used double stick tape to attach the table number flag. Finally, I attached the entire flower to my striped board with another piece of double stick tape.
At the reception the board was simply laid flat on a table. The best was this: all of the guests wore their flowers like boutonnieres!
